I see your point, and I may be reaching a little. Yeah, he's not the Iron Patriot during Civil War, but everything that is going on at that time leads up to it. Seeing all the Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers I made an early connection/assumption.
I don't object to IP being in the set and would say there's a possibility of him being there but I just find it odd that a few people think that it would be some kind of huge error for him to not be in the set....
All I ever wanted out of the Wizkids Event System was a stable platform for event management that yielded a consistent user experience. Sadly, the WES has never delivered for me. It's instead been a crapshoot for what will break on a given day. I've had days where I couldn't even log in, weeks when I couldn't finalize an event, whole months where I couldn't register new events. Depending on the browser, buttons and functions are invisible or disabled. And their support system? I've never even gotten an answer, much less a useful one. So... the WES is being scrapped in favor of something new? That seems like a WIN. Now if they can just deliver on the basics.
I see these complaints frequently, but I've been using the WES for a few years and haven't had any probs. It seems weird that so many do.....
This is Wizkids we're talking about, I could see them just pulling the flag and shield off that sculpt and using it for Norman, if not in the Civil War set then maybe Superior Foes.
*Sigh*
Forgot to not add any logic when dealing with WizKids. I mean I was reaching for it, but sculpt reuse is probably likely.
Gotta get some TLC Licence to snark.
What about goblins? Doesn't anyone believe in goblins anymore?
Ugh. This is the one thing I loathe about the WES. It is unregulated and is exploitative... and now Con LEs as incentive. I wonder how they will regulate this?
Zalpa: The only thing that I care about is the State of the Game segment. As a retailer, I would like to know how this game is doing. What did they talk about? They recently dropped to 5th in the industry overall, when they were as high as 3rd a few years back... is it still growing? What's their plan to keep players and gain new players? I know across the board it seems that local/weekly scene is almost non-existent in general, but that could also be because people just wait for the SLOP events or the Con In Your Store-type of events. I would like to know if Dice Masters is taking over as top priority.

Were I to speculate, I'd say the developer of the WES has/had little interest in professional web development standards and only puts enough effort into the site to have it perform smoothly on his or her own machine. If your own system is sufficiently similar your experience may well be seamless. If not, your experience will vary. Other operating systems and browsers, extensions and add-ons, non-standard security or compatibility settings, even firewalls could all adversely effect your experience. Something of this nature almost certainly lays at the core of my own issues. The site behaves differently on each of the six systems from which I semi-regularly access it. And yet I lay a measure of blame on WK because those professional standards exist for a reason. It is my hope that they've learned this, and that it played a part in their decision to launch something new rather than try to rehab the existing site.
I was given rep for my screen name alone! Now I feel all warm inside

They posted some pie charts that I didn't put online. They showed the growth of the company and of each line. According to the chart, they were bigger last year, than the 6 years prior. They didn't give any hard numbers, but they seemed happy with growth. They admitted they are a tiny company competing with juggernauts, but they firmly believe in being "lean and mean". Those were the words they used.
They also put up the CEO and COOs cell phone and emails to encourage retailers to show us they are serious going forward with making sure we are getting the product and events we think we should. I certainly won't be putting those numbers up because the internet is awful, but we shall see if it works. Once the new WIN goes live, there will be a retailer feedback page to submit requests and complaints. Alliance and Wizkids can respond to missing products, OP kits and getting skipped over for prereleases and stuff.

Seconded. I am not a retailer, but I also would like to know the State of the Game.
My own real-life schedule has really prohibited me from getting to local venues on a regular basis at all.
I didn't take the time to do AoU SLOP, but I may need to do Civil War, or at least see how the new BR system shakes out.
What category is HC considered 5th in the industry? Collectible miniatures games?
I feel it is an inevitability that Dice Masters takes over. Much lower production costs, much more portability to increase player appeal.
Just for clarity, that is miswritten. It only allows him to choose damage powers.
Ah, thanks. That's still stupid good. I immediately think of fl035 Impulse and his special power for which he rolls a d6 to determine whether it's Prob, Outwit or Perplex that he gets for the turn. Dr. Nemesis' trait lets him just choose one, and he has more choices.
