I do not dislike Denzel, and he usually turns in a pretty good performance when I watch one of his movies.
That said, most of his movies end up not looking like something I would care to spend my leisure time watching.
Again, not that they look bad, but they don't ever seem to grab me as must-watches. Like, if it were to go to a theater to see a movie, then there's something else more desirable to watch or even some other non-theater activity with which I'd guess I'd have a better time.
I didn't say that you had to watch any of his movies to take part. I just wondered if someone had already seen him in something.
I get what you are saying. I fully support your right to not watch stuff based on your preferences.
It annoys me to no end when people tell me that I can't say a movie is bad based off the trailer. Not only can I tell if it's for me or not, I can usually tell if it's garbage.
While I'm firmly with you in the opinion that the current younger generation has quite a bit wrong, I'm going to have to disagree on the point that this kind of thing is a generational thing.
I've gotten chastised at work by my superiors for using big words, like perpetuity and minutiae.
(It should be noted that the one doing this knows that her grammar and vocabulary is not good and has also asked me to point out when she say things incorrectly.)
In seventh or eighth grade I took a logic and critical thinking class offered at my school through the gifted program. I wish that class was more widely offered, if not mandatory.
As a side note, thinking about my school, somewhere the other day I had been talking about my varsity sport, the rifle team (marksmanship) in reference to the inflated "18 shootings this year" statistic being tossed around. Basically, using the criteria used to reach that count, then I would have participated in school shootings every day for months each year of high school.
Anyway, it got me wondering if that sport even still existed in today's environment. I was happy to note that I saw a sign yesterday for a spaghetti dinner being held as a fundraiser for the team.
It is a generational thing. I fully admit that my generation was influenced by this, as I call it, disease. It's just gotten worse as it's gone along and now it's ridiculous.
In the past, it was just the kids. Now we are seeing children with the disease who had parents who had the disease and it's out of control.
I know full well that it's possible to encounter people of my own age or older with a full blown case. I think you've mentioned this particular woman before and you have my heartfelt sympathies.
Apologies, but I am not touching the rifle thing. I am not saying you can't comment on it or that you shouldn't have in the first place. I assume that you know how I am about rules in here. But the last time I discussed small arms on HCRealms, I had my ocular health threatened.
