You may still use Metamorphosis or Level Up! on him since sending him to the Grave is a cost for their effects, and Horus LV6 is only unaffected by the effects of Spell Cards.
Here's the RONIN ruling:
• You can activate "Level Up!" and send "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6" to the Graveyard to Special Summon "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8" because sending 1 monster to the Graveyard is a cost for "Level Up!" and if a card is unaffected by Spell Cards, that only refers to effects, not to costs.
PS: Sorry I never got the Spell Card thing uploaded in time, but I'll write it while I'm away and upload it as soon as I get back, promise ;)
I couldnt wait too long...I already have the FET cards on thier way. :) And I had most of the others. I had to also buy TLWFAP and Ryu Senshi. I also went ahead and got some re-fusion, A feather of the phoenix, and TER.
Could this bump Dragon Decks up a notch???!!! With the ban on Magical Scientist. I think it very well may.
I can already hear my opponent. "NOOO, not a Red-Eyes B. Chick"!!! hehehehe(sinister laugh :devious: )
I'm not sure if I should run REBD or not. I might as well. Give some feedback guys/gals, what do you think? The chick and TER is going to be great if I can be consistant in pulling it off. Man I wish there was a way to get REDD out quicker. Level 9, yeah, you know what I'm thinking. MOO
Reborn- you can probably see why my heart stopped when you gave your idea!
Now it's just which dragons to pick??? Man what a great feeling!
Equip Spell
A monster equipped with this card cannot change its battle position or attack, and its ATK decreased by 300 points. If the equipped monster is destroyed, select 1 monster on the feild and equip this card to that monster.
There may be a couple ways to use this spell. It all depends on what you run in your deck. AND what your opponent runs. I am going to place 2 in my new side deck (when I get all the peices) to give it a try.
- you get to chose what card is equipped to.
- So why not make em pay for attacking Lord D. he's a wimp anyway and you can still tribute him. (For the King) If they do attack him, attach him to the attacking.
- Stall for lower level, level type dragons (except horus) instead of IMT. (trap cards dont work when JINZO is on the field). I'm thinking about the chick. "I dont have meta in my hand? I dont have hex-sealed? I dont have REBD in hand? Go ahead, attack chick, it'll be the last thing your monster does".
- BUT THE MAIN REASON Equip your opponent
- In this deck type, dragon type monsters can not be targeted. So if your not getting the King Dragun out consistantly, then the deck is not working anyway. Why not side deck the card, depending on who you are playing against, and use it when it fits. What a drag to have this constant pest attached to your monster that wont go away. Make em waste one of their spells to get rid of the pesky thing.
In a deck that is immune to its effect, it seems like a good choice for a side deck. Good way to put the breaks on a swarm. It gives you options against that darn Jinzo. And hey, have you seen the UR version? Definately some of the coolest art out there. Gotta check it out.
1. King Dragun is a Dark Monster, so use the Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion.
2. In many ways, Ekibyo Drakmord seems like a much better card then Flint. I can't understand why'd you equip it to your own monster in the first place.
Card # FET-EN028
Card Name The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion
Type: Rock
Attribute: DARK
Level 4
Attack 1000
Defense 1600
You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). Tribute Fusion-Material Monsters on the field, including this card, to Special Summon 1 DARK Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck.
use this with a lord of d. or divine dragon ragnarok (use lord of d...so much more convenient) to bring out king dragun....(i still can't believe they spelt it DRAGUN instead of DRAGON like come on..)
Greatdragon- I wouldnt normally equip flint to my own monster, thats the point, nobody wants this thing on their monster. So equip it to a "easy kill" monster (like Lord of D) to give some deterant. He's going to attack it anyway. This way, he'll think twice, especially if he really wants to attack with his monster again. If he does kill LOD, you can attch it to his, he cant attack. This can be a detterant. I certainly dont use LOD for his AWSOME ATTACK POWER, lol, who does? He has a role and its not attacking. Its getting dragons out, and protecting them. And now, hehehe, an additional possibility for getting King Dragun out. Once he's out, FLINT is no longer a threat to your dragons.
This isnt some game breaking Idea about FLINT, just a fun little card to make your opponent say ARRG.
Just seems to me that you would be better off setting a trap or spell card face down either as a bluff or the real thing. Mirror Force is getting unbanned and plenty of ppl run Sakuretsu Armor and Raigeki Break. Maybe even an Offering to the Doomed if you're worried about Jinzo.
thought you guys here might like to see this. DMComet provided some info on a new Promo card in the Yu-Gi-Oh R Comic.
Second, the effect:
YR1-JP001
Devil King Dragon - Vandargaron
Dark/Dragon/8/2800/2500
Whenever a card that opponent activate is negate by a Counter Trap, this card can be special summon from your hand. When this card is successfully special summon this way, one of the following effects would be activate depends on the type of the card negated.
- Magic: Do 1500 damages to your opponent
- Trap: Destroy a card on opponent's field.
- Effect Monster: Choose a monster in your Graveyard and special summon it onto your field.
This will love getting a bunch of Counter Traps stacked in a deck.
An interesting card indeed, but I'm not sure if I would run it or not. It would need a whole bunch of cards I don't normally use like Magic Jammer, Seven Tools or Divine Wrath.
Is it Deckable? Under normal circumstances - which means normal decks running 2 copies of Divine Wrath etc. - I would say one could fit in nicely. It has a nice ATK, and its effects could prove very helpful, but generally, I'd be inclined to lean towards Tyrant Dragon.
If countering cards is your thing, though, he could fit your deck nicely.
Not so sure about a deck based around him, it could work, but it could also be somewhat weak compared to other Dragon decks.
First impression: A solid Dragon with an interesting effect, very much 9/10
(Hope I'm reading that effect right, for some reason I have trouble understanding comet's translations.... )
PS: Yes, I'm back.
PPS: Got your PMs squid, but I'm really tired tonight, so I'll take a look tomorrow when my brain doesn't feel like mush :knockedou
"countering" is most definitely my thing. Nothing more annoying for an opponent than multiple links in a chain that eventually end with their resources getting squat. Now, to have double pay by being able to summon a monster for that 1000 pts paid to 7 Tools, or discarded Dragon for Magic jammer/Divine Wrath? To me, this is seriously deckable.
Dont forget that discarding for MJ/DW will also help to trigger Super Rejuvenation, so there is a good chance for a Dragon deck working with this new promo, to keep its hand well stocked. (that will be important considering the discard costs of many counter traps)
I've just finished my first real true Dragon-Morphosis deck. Anyone with nothing better to do that fancies a look can check it out here
@squid: I've been thinking a lot about that Dragon, and the more I think on it the more I like it... I might just have a crack at building a deck with it after all ^^
Dragon-reborn, I looked at your deck, but don't know what to think of it. It really made my head spin. As for countable traps, you forgot about trap jammer. It works quite well in my opinion, since I love to counter if I can. That dragon would be a nice addition to my deck (some where in main or side).
If you have time Dragon-reborn, please take a look at my deck. It is in my signature. I would really like to have a honest opinion from someone like you.
Lol Lindsay, I have a habit of making people's heads spin, and not always for good reasons :p
Since I have a bit of time on my hands, I might as well explain the theory and thinking behind this deck, and include the text of new cards for those like Lindsay who may not be familiar with the awsome force known as Hex-Sealed Fusion:
Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon
Blowback Dragon
Fusilier Dragon, The Dual-Mode Beast
Red-Eyes Black Dragon
Red-Eyes Black Dragon
Lord Of D.
Cave Dragon

Mystic Tomato

The Dark – Hex-Sealed Fusion
The Dark – Hex-Sealed Fusion
The Dark – Hex-Sealed Fusion
This is the monster line-up from my new deck. At first glance, it's a pretty unspectacular Red-Eyes setup. But wait... What are those Hex-Sealed cards?
The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion
Attrib: Dark
Type: Rock/Effect
Level:3
Atk: 1000
Def: 1600
You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). Tribute Fusion-Material Monsters on the field, including this card, to Special Summon 1 DARK Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck.
There are 3 Hex-Sealed cards so far, Dark, Light and Earth. Hopefully, we'll see Wind before much longer, too.
Make no mistake, these cards are pure madness. They can be searched by Elemental Searchers, Last Will or Sangan, so getting them out is no biggie.
But this is the big one: they function as both Fusion Substitutes AND Polymerization substitutes.
A big issue with Fusion decks is always the sheer amount of support needed to Summon the Fusions. You need Poly, Fusion Gate, at least one of the Fusion Materials, Fusion Subs, searchers... by the time you're done, your main deck is nothing but one big Fusion support.
Not anymore. Now all it takes to summon any Dark, Light or Earth Fusion Monster is one of the Materials and the appropriate Hex-Sealed card. That's 2 cards instead of 4-5, leaving plenty of space free for other good cards. This is going to be even more important with the upcoming ban of Magical Scientist.
Even better, since they Special Summon, they can still be used for the likes of Dark Balter or Ryu Senshi.
Oh, and they also work as ordinary Fusion Subs for those who still want to use Poly or Fusion Gate.
Now, you can see that those three Hex-Sealed Fusions in my deck automatically give me access to three powerful Fusions: B. Skull Dragon, Gatling Dragon and King Dragun
Gatling Dragon
Attrib: Dark
Type: Machine/Fusion/Effect
Level:8
Atk: 2600
Def: 1200
"Barrel Dragon" + "Blowback Dragon"
Toss a coin 3 times. Destroy a number monsters on the field equal to the number of heads. This effect can only be used once per turn, during your Main Phase.
I don't think I need to explain this one. The latest member of the Barrel Dragon family, and the only LV. 8 Fusion; an excellent ATK and a killer effect all combine to make this a real mean machine. Lock, Stock and multiple smokin' Barrels ^^
King Dragun
Attrib: Dark
Type: Dragon/Fusion/Effect
Level:7
Atk: 2400
Def: 1200
"Lord of D." + "Divine Dragon Ragnarok"
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot target Dragon-Type monsters for the effect of a Spell, Trap, or Monster Card. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand to your side of the field.
This is the card that will make people fear what lurks in the Fusion decks of Dragon duelists. This boy rarely hits the field alone, and woe to whoever finds himself staring down this AND a Tyrant Dragon. This card replaces both Lord Of D. and Flute in Dragon decks, it can be morphed into from the likes of Red-Eyes and Fusilier, and is pretty much an all-round mean and nasty bugger :p
But that's not all. There's another new card that goes hand-in-hand with the Hex-Sealed Fusions, namely this one:
Centrifugal Field
Group: Spell Card
Type: Spell
Icon:Field
When a Fusion Monster(s) is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, the owner of that Fusion Monster selects 1 of the Fusion-Material Monsters written in the card text of that Fusion Monster from his/her Graveyard and Special Summons it to the field. (It is the owner of the Fusion Monster that can Special Summon the Material Monster)
Since you'll be summoning Fusions with at least one correct material, this card will allow you to bring back said material when that Fusion is destroyed. Even better, unlike De-Fusion, it works with Metamorphosis, so if you morphed a Darkness Dragon into B. Skull Dragon and it gets destroyed, you could revive the Red-Eyes you used to summon Darkness Dragon. Pure madness, and sheer revival mayhem. Use at least 1 in Hex decks (hey, that rhymes ^^)
So, I hope that helps explain the Hex-Sealed Fusions better, and lets people see why I'm so excited about them. Let the Fusion Madness commence! :p
