:) Do not leave them room to land... I park near terrain or the edge of the field, then move out a formation of Infantry and/or Vehicles to cover the LZ where the MDFA would have to occur.
Perhaps, but a cunning Falcon will count on this and field unit(s) that will aid the set-up of such a tactic....like Anti-Personnel units an massive Pulse platforms. Timing will handle everything else.
A Wolf tied to a single location and unable to move cannot bring it's superior range to bear. If I judge you correctly, the concept of a static defense is unappealing. ;)
Unwise is the Falcon that does not account for the MDFA to be expected.

No, a static defense is NOT my style... I do use Artillery though if I am playing in a more serious vein... Or trying to prove a point and the gloves have come off... Keeps a pog under the 2 biggest threats every turn, and as so few Falcon pieces have Reactive/Hard Armor, most have to pay close attention to that. The Infantry with Recon were a major blessing to me :) Moves without orders are always good in close games. Against Falcons woods are not a good thing to count on for defense, but slowing down drops it does work... The Falcon Artillery Infantry are quite nice, and do tend to become major targets for me when I see them :) I DO field a lot of Reactive Armor, so anything AP gets my attention. That and the knife fighter's mentality helps "I'll take damage to get a kill".. The Wolves are certainly not unbeatable, but as it stands now, we do have a LOT of the top of the "curve" pieces. 'course, just my opinions as always...
HAHA! AFF! If I ever get to meet any of you guys, you will undertsand my "Knife Fighter's Mentality" as well. I am covered with scars from that. haha!
Alot of good info to share for this FW. My 2nd Faction is Falcon, and I must admit, that I have never been defeated when playing my Falcon armies. My little JF Panther has 20 something DFA's against Assault Mechs. That is the one that we mark him a notch on every kill. He has NEVER missed, to this point. Great Mech, especially for the points!
Combined Arms means Multiple Clans engaging, not necessarily using infantry and vec's along with your Mechs, quiaff?
HAHAHA! I was refering to the showing we displayed during the 3050 Invasion, Warrior. haha!
You know that the only MUTT army I have ever played was when I tossed a couple of Isorla Hell's Horses Mechs into a 3500 point battle. I had to see how the new guys would work out. Except for the quality control issues concerning heat dials wadding up and unrolling, they were rather efficient.
I have been working on an army centered around Slayer. Usually, I back up a heavy mech with a light mech and additional support, but have thus far been unable to find one that I like. I was wondering what others have tried, which mechs worked and which did not.

Well, I've run most of my Warwolves with either a Jackalope (Pilot/Repair or IT), Mjolnir or something like a Wulfen (Grey Hunter w/alternate Pilot/IT) or perhaps the CH "Forgiven" w/ Pilot/RISC APM... An Infantry drop out of a Maxim is also something to be feared in this case...
1.
Slayer + Vaughn Sender + IT
Cleaver + Anastasia Kerensky + Beagle Probe (I get mobbed a lot, this helped my supporting units lots of times)
3 WH Elite Clan Battle Armor
1 WH Cizin
= 600 Points
I know Beagle Probe is quirky and many folks prefer Improved Targeting-M, but it works wonders on all enemies who mob Slayer. Slayer is a magnet for all kinds of trouble so Cleaver and the rest of the gang smashes those that get close. I advance my army and use a lot of blocking terrain and some water to keep me cool. The infantry, Cizin and Cleaver are my "pack hunters" that collapse on incoming enemies that engage Slayer. Slayer's streaks are the trick to getting people to come to you. I love the fact that the WH Cizin can grapple and shoot things accurately. Oh yeah, this entire army has reactive armor.
2.
Slayer + Vaughn Sender + IT
SW Blade + Star Captain + Double Rate
1 SW Arrow 4 Tank
4 WH Elite Clan Battlearmor
1 SW Clan Battlearmor or SW Infiltrator Battle Armor
1 Tora's Unruly Mob
= 600
Defensive Army. Artillery is nice, but I just love our infantry.
Hailz all Wolves. Ok we begged, pleaded, sometimes cried fro WK to give us CW. Now we have Faction War this month lets rock this one. In all the past Faction vs Faction polls, tournies and what not. We have always came in a close 2nd. This time lets take first, and not by a little. Other the last few months more and more players have joined us. Lets get our armies together get the new players up to speed quickly. WE shall spill the blood of all that stand before us.
I am running our Venue's Faction War in about 3 hours. Alas, I have no opportunity to fight for my Clan. Rather sux when you are the Khan!
No matter, I have built an impressive, and probably unbeatable army (at my venue) and intend to place it in the hands of a Noob (2 months experience), who shall fight for our Honour. This may open me to a Trial of Grievance, but I believe that even a Noob can win with it, at our Venue. We shall see what happens.
I shall wish him Luck and Skill! My personal Command is rather experienced and should serve the temporary, new Commander very well.
I apologize for the intrusion, but I was looking at the CJF/CW SA, I can see that becoming really good on many different occasions. Anyone given a thought to it?

pardon my query, but what does the CJF/CW do? don't have a copy of that.
