TEmptation - The Tea Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GqwHJ7gqr8
Bought Nevermore's Obsidian conspiracy and popped the CD in the car stereo. The wife heard the first 30 seconds and informed me that it was a cover of a band called The Tea Party, who she listened to a lot. The Tea Party did some interesting music especially with intertwining musical melodies from other culture's music.
This isn't What We Meant - Savatage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE0iBDl3NHw
Savatage rocked so hard. They really picked up where Meatloaf left off but made it heavier and more in your face. This is my favorite song off Dead Winter Dead, which in itself is an excellent album all together.
Trial By Fire - Satan https://youtu.be/pVzgKecnyFE?t=64
This is the band that would eventually turn into Blitzkrieg. Ya know that band Metallica covered. This song is a great listen and very representative of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. They really upped the bass so there is a slight Iron Maiden feel because of the defined bass.
To The Rats - Trivium https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsUSVlZLPu4
If there was ever a Trivium song that every teenage metal head needs to listen to it is this one. It is so angsty.
TO Be With You - Paul Gilbert (live) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ligr9aMFcQ
Better than the original? Well he wrote it, it's just not with the band, Mr. Big. Mute you remember the name of the bassist from Mr. Big? Very famous. Paul Gilbert is just such a fun guitarist to watch because he really likes playing and gets into it.

Aaaaand, I'm in. This song is groovy. I approve. It's over already? This song is too short.

I was trying to recall how I new these guys. Then I remembered...Hall Of The Mountain King. Your comparison to Meatloaf is pretty good. Also, as I don't like Meatloaf, I logically am not a fan of this, either.

Really? There's a band called "Satan"? I wonder if they pronounce it like the hockey player. This was actually pretty good. I liked it.

I'm down with Trivium. I approve.

Billy Sheehan is the bassist you're refraining from mentioning by name. I ran into him at one of the NAMM shows. I was checking out this really strange tubish bass from a company called Gittler (really different, check it out here: https://gittlerinstruments.com/gittler-electric-bass). While I'm doing this, suddenly there's a lot of people at this tiny little booth, and I'm getting kinds shouldered out of the way. What the hell, man! Oh...someone got Billy Sheehan to come and try it out, and cameras were everywhere. I didn't recognize him at first, and I gave him a look like, "I was here first". He made sure people gave me room, while he did his thing.
As for this song, meh. I was never a big fan of it when it came out, and this version doesn't grab me.
Scott Ian of Anthrax on guitar
Kenny Hickey of Type O Negative, also on guitar
Michel Begeame and Olli Schneider of Such a Surge on vocals
Gary Meskil of Pro-Pain on bass
Tim Mallare of Overkill on drums
Wishing for competitive Judge Dredd figures for Modern Age...WizKids are you listening?!?!

That last song was pretty good. I definitely heard a lot of Anthrax in it.
