After wracking my brain for quite some time, I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible for four people to find a way to back up one person and act as another's stand-in-villain, while not having any backup-crossover. It just isn't possible. Somebody is going to have to play the villain for the guy who is acting as that person's backup.
The problem is the number of players. If we had an odd-number of players, it would be possible but on an even-numbered amount of players it isn't.
So, that said, I guess we can just go willy-nilly on who we backup and villainize. I'll back-up Oogie when he can't post, and will act as villain for Prof. Aragorn when RB is busy.
If this is ok with everyone, it gives us a little vairence. It also makes sure that no one is both the Backup and Villian for the same person. It was the best way I could think to do it.
Alright, the way I see it is the only way for it to work is if two people pair up (i.e., Oogie is Prof's villain, and Prof is Oogie's villain). The one deficiency of this is that if one or both people are gone, two games could go down. But that shouldn't be a problem, since I'll do my best to pick up the slack. Here's the break-down, as I figured it, doing my best to keep what you guys wanted in mind.
Oogie (Titans)
Back-up: Lightshear
Villain: Prof. Aragorn
Lightshear (JLA)
Back-up: Prof. Aragorn
Villain: Clixhunter
Prof. Aragorn (Defenders)
Back-up: Clixhunter
Villain: Oogie
Alright, If you guys want to change it, you can try, but I think this is probably gonna be the closest way possible to what you asked for. If you've changed your mind from what you asked, you can try to change it, but remember that you can't be a person's backup and his villain, so that means in most cases you'll have to change a lot to accomodate it. Anyway, I hope you like that set-up, and I'll try to do my share of the work with the villains.
Now, I'm gonna go set up the new thread. I'll post a link to it here as soon as I do, and we can take up the conversation on that thread. After that, I'm gonna finish the background story for Marvel (I've already finished DC), and then I'll start working on the introductory stories for the specific teams.
After that, I'll just have to write the issue #1 scenarios before we can get this party started.
Okay, Oogie, I didn't see your post before I posted mine. I didn't mean to steal your thunder.
Basically, in Oogie's version, everyone is backing up their villain. However, on Oogie's versions, there aren't pairs (the person that's the villain for you isn't who you're the villain for).
The other three players can vote on it, here or on the new thread soon to come, but I'm not gonna to let this hold us up, so if two of you don't vote for Oogie's version by the time the scenarios are posted (which will probably be a few days at least, a week at most hopefully), I'll just go with mine.
(It's no big deal, I just have to pick one, that's all. Oogie's seems fine, I just didn't see it until I'd already posted mine.)
