Nope...this was in like the GotG second-ever appearance, quite awhile before Niki came along.

Nope and Nope. In the storyline in question, a freedom fighter from the Guardians' time came into the past, and persuaded Cap, Thing and one other person to go "back to the future" to help the Guardians (Astro, Charlie, Marty and Yondu) overthrow the Badoon.

HINT: Both correct answers are female characters.

I can't believe the Thing would've let Alica come along, so I'm pretty sure Sharon Carter was the one who went along for the ride. Since she and Cap were so close at that time.
I'd have to toss out a guess about who traveled back in time. There've been so many people who've done that, and about a 3rd have been female. I'll go with Tarin or Terin. Maybe Terminatrix, tho I think she was with Kang.
Come to think of it, I don't recall Kang ever going against the GotG.
