Remember, I only said one was right and one was wrong; I never said which was which.
Wasn't that what your doctor said to your mother when you were born and she asked "What's my baby's gender?" and he said what you just said, just add before it the line about "I think it's a boy" and then said "It could be a girl". And so the story goes.
When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

That's JTR for you. Every time you think he's hit the rock bottom of bad taste in humor, he breaks out the jackhammer.
It's been three days and no correct answer. A sad lacking of basic Hembeck knowledge among the board.
The correct answer is the Martian Manhunter and Dr. Mid-Nite. In Abbott and Costello Meet the Bride of Hembeck (Fantaco, 1980), the Martian Manhunter faints from terror upon meeting the Human Torch ("Now they're making people out of fire!"). Tommy Tomorrow calls for a doctor, and Dr. Mid-Nite responds, mentioning that he had met the Manhunter at a JLA/JSA team-up. Prior to 1980, J'Onn J'Onzz had only participated in one JLA/JSA team-up: the first one, in 1963. Dr. Mid-Nite did not attend that meeting (although he did send a telegram).

The Human Torch? Which one?
I had forgotten all about Dr Mid-Nite.

Johnny Storm. Hembeck's stuff was full of humorous inter-company crossovers; Jonah Hex and Archie, Power Man and Power Girl, etc.
There's something in that that could make for a good story.
Archie Andrews, thanks to long-time friend and geek Dilton Doiley, travels back in time to the old-west, thinking it'd be just like the movies. He crosses paths with Jonah Hex, who gets annoyed by Archie and so shoots and kills Archie.
But then, Dilton sends back both, Betty and Veronica to try to get Archie back. They find his lifeless body and, not knowing it was Jonah that killed Archie, they cry on his shoulder and that leads to them both marrying Jonah, who (at least in this version) is a mormon. And in a another panel, we find out that Jonah is Archie's great great grand father. Proving that one of the girls was actually related to Archie. But which one? That will be answered in the sequel.
