Ok, sorry for the delay. Slept through Tuesday. I'll never ask you guys for a consensus again.
Pax manages to convince Stranger and Jawa that throwing the priest down the hole is a good idea. Or rather, he tries to, and he takes a long enough to to distract them that Wade is able to grab the priest, and drag him nearly to the door. Sky, who until now had been searching dead bodies, and coming up empty, gets skeeved out just in time and sees what is about to occur. Sky raises his gun, and is about to do something drastic, when out of the sky comes a massive deus ex machina.
A giant shell comes screaming down and crashes into the building with the hole in the floor. The shell pops open, and several headcrabs begin to emerge, only for the roof of the building to collapse upon it. With the hole now blocked, only Wade still seems interested in tossing down the man of god. When he puts down the priest to start digging, Sky hurries over and helps the priest to his feet. Leaning on Sky heavily, the two head towards the church. The others shrug and follow. Except Wade. It takes him a minute to realize he is now alone, and lacking a priest to toss. Grumpily, he rejoins the group at the church.
When Wade joins the group once more, Sky has already set the priest down in a pew, and finished explaining their mission to him.
"Ah, if it is a device you seek, I expect you'll be wanting to head to Black Mesa. You'll be needing to go through Ravenholme for that, and you'll want to hurry. My children have already been riled up tonight. Go now, stay safe and beware my traps. I'll stay here. It's been a busy night"
The priest tells you that on the other side of Ravenholme there is a shack with a ladder inside, leading down into Black Mesa. Because nothing in the church has been bolded, you realize that there is nothing to loot, and so you exit the church and head into Ravenholme proper. The priest bars the door behind you.
Your trip through the small town of Ravenholme is, surprisingly, nearly uneventful. Dead zombies are scattered everywhere, some recently killed, while other are clearly long dead, and seem to have been put on display in some type of warning. The five of you are walking down Ravenholme's main street when you meet your first sign of trouble.
Before you is one of the traps Father Grigori mentioned. It is an arm with a large piece of sharp metal, attached to a motor, swinging in a circle at approximately waist height. On the other side of the trap is a hulking zombie, with several large black headcrabs clinging to it. It doesn't seem to have noticed you yet. suddenly you hear howling, and on the roof of the building the the left of you, and to the right, a skinless zombie appears. Both drop down behind you, and leap in your direction, moving much faster than the zombies you previously encountered.
