CYCLOPS TARGETING A BAD GUY: He had him in his sight. He turned the knob on his visor and fired a powerful beam of energy at the villain. "I'll stop you this time... even if I have to do it alone. The blast didn't seem to affect his target. Instead, the ruby beam ricocheted off into a nearby lamp post. The following chain of events was something that could be described as a rejected scene from Final Destination. [BAD GUY EITHER PROTETED IN SOME WAY (SELF PROTECT/PARTNER PROTECT) OR A MISDIRECTION OF SOME SORT THAT WAS WRITTEN IN AN INTERESTING WAY]
The lamp post fell into the side of a building, knocking loose part of the fire escape. The fire escape crashed down into the window of a parked car, dislodging the emergency break. The car began to roll slowly forward. "Oh no. How did that happen?" He said as he jumped down from his post and readied another blast to try to stop the car. That's when he noticed the rest of the fire escape about to crash down on a straggling bum in the alleyway. "What... There's no one like that here." [WHO'S THE BUM?]
He sighed at the illogical situation and ran over to tackle the woman out of the way. [THE BUM WAS A WOMAN?] He started to slow down, feeling weak. [THIS SEEMS LIKE THE RESULT OF DIRECT TARGETING - ROLEBLOCK?] The closer he got, the slower he moved. Eventually he just stopped moving altogether as the fire escape came crashing down on him. The bum screamed in horror at what just happened and ran off.
Interesting chain of events. I suppose it could be just a really wonky write up for a PGO. I could see a misdirection as well though.
And a roleblock. Is the female Bum an NPC or is there someone like that?
That's what I thought at first but could the female bum be Plague aka Pestilence?
Also, according to wikipedia, Plague was killed by Julie Power. Wth? I've always thought of Power Pack as a lighthearted comic that I wanted to read someday and totally out of place during the Mutant Massacre but apparently, they're in a couple really serious crossovers.
Sorry for the questions, but I have a hard time figuring comic things out. For instance, is there a reason zyx capitalized Colossal (joke, hint, etc.) and I'm just not getting it?

Magneto and Xavier merge to form a colossal fig in this set, onslaught. Onslaught would likely be a serial killer or some kind of boss, while mags and Xavier would probably be town friendly masons or cult formers, with other powers.
I must be confused. Isn't this where Rokk's partner is killed:
How is anyone getting PGO/misdirection or anything other than a straight up kill out of that?
Or am I confused in thinking Rokk is talking about his partner, because he's doing the questioning, but he's actually just wondering about the other Final Destination type kill? I think that must be it. Sorry about that.
As noted above, because my partner was AWOL he essentially became a "second role" for me, including taking my place if killed. When he died I was given two bits of info about his death: that it was not taking my place and that it was not from someone targeting him for death. My initial thought was PGO - which I wouldn't out if it seemed Town'ish because why give the Mafia a good Misdirect path. The write-up and some things learned though suggest not a PGO. So if he wasn't intentionally targeted and he didn't hit a PGO, that left Misdirected Killer as the most likely scenario.
Little surprised with all the talk of Colossals - especially since psn and I obviously originally started out as separate (I was asked by IR to mentor but then psn never showed up) - as there's no reason to think Colossals are killers. Maybe Apocalypse and his Horsemen as a theme. I still haven't seen any evidence my theory of the anti-mutant types (Sentinels, Purifiers, Reavers...) aren't here to kill the numerous mutants which comprise the sets' theme.
As for my having info from a departing mason partner, it wasn't just Final Gift - though I've seen that enough times to coin a phase for it - but also because I was in charge of both roles. So being I didn't leave the game, I still got my Night result of the targeting of JoH (another reason I'm not feeling it was PGO).
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."
