Reading the posted comments got me interested. I am three episodes in and Stranger Things is definitely hitting all of the right notes. I add my own two thumbs up endorsement!

On a completely different subject, the firewall at work has defeated me yet again. I can download the old version of Zork I, but am blocked from downloading a DOSBox app that will allow me to play it. Curses, foiled once more....

Also, the Arkham Underworld app is out of beta and free. It's ok. Fun playing as the villains but nothing that keeps you glued to the game. It's still verging a little generic in the genre.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I wanted to let my friends in particular know about the series and so here is where I would do that. That would be the place to post about it though.
Just finished all 8 episodes of Stranger Things. Very enjoyable indeed - and may merit a second viewing at some point.
By the way, should anyone design a mafia game based on this show, I will play. Or who knows - maybe if enough time elapses, I'll get around to modding a Stranger Things mafia game after all.

I have only myself to blame. After all this time avoiding any desire to go see Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or even read up on it, I caved last night and rented it on demand. I would have done so much better just tuning into Donald Trump's acceptance speech at the RNC. All I have to say is..... I really don't know what to say.
I had heard that it wasn't a great movie, but boy did they let Zack Snyder take a huge dump on DC's most iconic superheroes. I should've known better after my dissatisfaction with Man of Steel. If this is DC's way of trying to get on the Movieverse bandwagon like Marvel did with The Avengers, it's a total miss.
I'm gonna leave it there. Everyone else here has probably already seen BvS. Consider yourself lucky if you're one of the few who has not. That's 2 and 1/2 hours of your life that you will waste and never get back. Fair warning.

I only watched the extended cut, and I liked it a lot. I'm not a fanboy either. From what I have read, B v S theatrical cut was utter crap, but the extended cut made the movie flow much better.

That may be the case, and I respect your opinion. However, what is basically wrong about BvS is what Snyder started doing in Man of Steel. Instead of portraying heroes according to their source characterizations, Snyder made a Batman/Superman movie that has little or nothing to do with their personalities and motivations. It was a hollow slugfest.
I'm not gonna go off on a fanboy rant (because I do admit that I am a fanboy.) Superman is supposed to represent high ideals and hope, not be a killer and a destroyer of human lives and property. Batman is supposed to represent implacable justice that works in the darkness, not a one-man army with more guns, artillery, and ordnance than a battalion.
(And Batman having no problem with shooting bad guys and using branding irons on them? I'm not even gonna continue.)
