I didn’t realize that The Warning had been nominated, it’s such a pleasant surprise. These three Mexican sisters have only grown musically since this earlier song when, I believe, they were 19, 17, and 14 years old. Pretty close to that anyway. A vote for Red Hands Never Fade, please.
I just need to share this again from when The Warning were 14, 12, and 9 years old. It’s a little fascinating that they were so polished at that young age. This is about five years before Red Hands.
When I left South Korea I was sent to Merry Olde England where I was stationed in the Midlands and was not too far from Oxford where I was not too awful far from Oxford which is where I had to go to get my comics I couldn't get from the Base Exchange. This is where I finally realized that Robert Fripp had revived the band because I stumbled on the Three Of A Perfect Pair album but the only song I really liked was the title song. The rest of the album left me flat. I don't know what they did but Adian Belew's vocals were not a problem for me on this track.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
I don't know where many of you stand on Country music but Leeann Rimes Blue is up in rock wars, and I love her rendition of Blue. I grew up in rural Iowa. Cornfields and Pig farms everywhere. I cut my teeth on Country music and old school country definitely has my number.
Leeann Rimes did a duet that I love recreating a classic Eddy Arnold hit duet with Eddy Arnold before he passed away.

For me country is hit or miss. When it hits, it really gets stuck in my brain.
I'll see your cattle call and a raise you a Cattle Car.
Ironically, it is an early version of Cypress Grove.
You've certainly turned me into a Clutch fan. I've been rocking Clutch since you introduced them to me.

Something Borrowed: #53 DUALITY cover of Slipknot (Band-Maid) - Band-Maid was scheduled to perform at Slipknot's Knotfest a couple of years ago; it was evidently Covid canceled. This is a terrible quality, video from a (I think) camera phone of a warm up or rehearsal or something.
Something Blue: #40 AZURE (Band-Maid) - This was another "color" song that I considered for the current Rock War.

Now thinking of how I can work this theme into my own wedding playlist
I found myself strangely fascinated by this entire album, that I never knew existed. Every song sounds a bit the same but I kept mentally comparing Stairway To Heaven, Enter Sandman, etc. to the originals and kept listening. At first I thought you literally meant seeing the actual album cover; never imagined these were covers of very famous rock and metal songs. Almost tempted to nom one of these songs in some future Rock War purely for the surprise factor.

PS. I now think “The Wind Cries Mary” is going in my playlists. It may be my favorite Pat Boone song ever. Yes, I’m shocked also.
I knew about this album but never looked into it. I suppose it's no worse than David Hasselhoff covering Iggy Pop. Pat Boone was one of the worst culture appropriation musicians of the 50s and 60s. At least Elvis had respect and admiration for the artists he covered.

Again, I’m shocked to say that I didn’t hate the David Hasselhoff version of “The Passenger”. Never heard it before, not going in a playlist, probably didn’t need to be done but darned if I didn’t enjoy hearing it. Thanks!

It's definitely a gimmick album. Some say it's the "worst" metal album ever, I appreciate it for what it is.
I put this in the same category, Black Hole Sun Paul Anaka
There's also Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
Wishing for competitive Judge Dredd figures for Modern Age...WizKids are you listening?!?!

This showed up in my feed. The band is obviously inspired by Ned Flanders. The music is great but that vocal style never gets me excited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BEvh6HSQc0
