Is there really a difference for rulings for that? I would have thought they'd amount to the same thing.
Oh and NinjaDuelist, stop by the new Lair. As a member of the mailing list you'll be automatically granted full access to the ideas we've come up with so far.

Yes there are...
"Sending to the Graveyard" does not equal discarding
"Sending to the Graveyard" does not equal destroying
"Sending to the Graveyard" does not equal Tributing
Discarding does not equal destroying
Destroying does not equal discarding
etc
However, it's GOOD that there are these as this can lead to some loopholes with certain cards...
For example...
Mind Control + Assault on GHQ = Take control of opponent's mon, destroy it and they lose 2 cards from the top of their deck (you only spend 1, technically 2 cards while they lose 3)
Mind Control + Destruction Ring = Take control of opponent's mon, destroy it and inflict 1000 LP damage to both players.
Mind Control + Gift of the Martyr = Take control of the opponent's mon, send it to the graveyard and make one of your mons stronger for more damage.
Mind Control + Altar for Tribute = Take control of the opponent's mon, send it to the graveyard and gain LP.

Well I got the other ones. I just thought sending directly from your hand to the graveyard would have been considered discarding. Now that I look up the RONIN rulings on Gravekeeper's Watcher I guess that makes sense.
I personally, will be experimenting with Dragged Down to the Grave in the Dark Realm. Yes, the opponent does get to choose which card to discard, but that has always been the case with that card. Anyone who has used it with any frequency can tell you that its all about controlling your hand.
Reloading a few times, plus the Dark Realm searchers and recursor effects, themselves. Monster Reincarnation (to ensure I have the proper DRmonster back in my hand) things like that.
For a basic Dark Realm deck, it shouldn't be too difficult. However, I agree that these things will be a fad, like Half~ stated. The fact that you are eliminating your own hand and extending your exposed self on the field to effects like Dark Hole, means that most people will quickly shy away from this after the initial testing.
Hey guys, you gotta give props where props is due. Agentmage wrote an excellent article giving an overview of the Dark Realm Fiends today. You can check it out here:
What's really important here is he's compiled a list of cards that will and won't work with them. There is a bit of discussion going on about them too. Who knows, there may be a fiend revival here shortly 8^D
I agree with Squid on Dragged down from the Grave it can be a great card just have to do good hand management. I think you might be able to do a good hand control/beatdown with the Dark Realm monsters just going to take some deck tweaking and adjustment.
On a side note i started playing with an feind deck with Convulsion of Nature. With Archfiend's Oath, Consciption, Time Seals and Drop Offs I have really fustrated opponates by being able to take away draws from them.
I just had a thought on Convulsion of Nature. Can it work with this card?
Recycle
Continuos
During your Standby Phase, pay 300 Life Points to select 1 non-Monster Card in your Graveyard and return it to the bottom of your Deck.
Normally it puts it on the bottom of the deck but with CoN wouldn't it be your next draw?I can see some possibilities with it if it works.

No, Convulsion of Nature just flips the decks upside down.
It DOES NOT completely change the common sense of "top" and "Bottom" of the deck. Recycle would still put the card at the Bottom of the deck, but it just goes face-up at the bottom since the deck is upside down.

Meaning destroying Convulsion of Nature afterwards would give you the draw on the next turn.
i really think, regarding Darkl Realm, that they will be here to stay not just a fad, but they will require a VERY well balanced/tested deck to run properly.
their best combination is morphing jar, and most of thier support's too situational to work reliably (do you honestly want your hand chock full fo dark realm monsters? at least they have their own recursion) but with a proper balance of SOME Dark Realm monsters (my gut tells me 2 of the tribs, one of each lv4 or lowers, and one or two fo each support) and some field controlling cards will allow you to set yourself up for a quick, cripping blow with the dark realmers, i think that's where its strength is.
Oh, that's going to be sick. Run Waldo's combo of Morphing Jar flip + Spiritual Earth Arts to bring PotS out of the graveyard...then having some Dark Realmers hit hte field....nasty...
Yeah Dillie-O, that would be a great combo. It's already good with PotS, Morphing Jar, and Spiritual Earth Art. If you can swarm the field with some Realmers, it becomes even better.
I personally haven't decided how I will run Dark Realmers when I pick up a box of EEN. Right now I have separate fiend and Archfiend decks, so I may go pure Dark Realmers just because there are enough of them and their support to make a pure Realm deck. Then again, as some of you have mentioned, some of the less specific fiend support like Dark Necrofear might help balance out a Dark Realm deck.
Looking over the Dark Realm support from EEN, I agree with HeavyMetal King that it will probably take a well balanced and playtested deck to get these guys to work. I have a feeling that some people will just throw a bunch of them into a deck in an all out swarm and fail miserably...

LOL! No, warriors are still my number one choice. I just have a tendency to dabble in other things, with an occasional smattering of evil in me :devious:
Fiends were actually the first competitive theme I used back in the days of PGD, so they still have a soft spot with me. I caught onto warriors shortly after. These guys on the fiend thread have enough recruits anyway :)
