Originally posted by hail_eris Three-player is our standard format. The way it works for us goes something like this:
1) My two friends immediately charge each other (one of them favors rangers, the other is all about the beat sticks) and commence to laying waste to each other.
2) I come in playing some screwball team with Judge Death, six-armed Spiderman, and Jervis Tetch on it.
3) My team is justifiably ignored until I pull of a decent roll and make some "woo hoo" noises, accompanied by flashing the "metal rules!" salute.
4) This draws the attention Vet. She-Hulk, who turns and proceeds to beat my entire team to death with dump trucks and each other (we play with persistent corpses - increases the potential for adding insult to injury), while LE Silver Surfer blows them into tiny bits from the other side of the map.
5) I make the mental note that showboating is not rewarded in a three way game.
This scenario plays itself out pretty much every week. As yet, I have not learned to either a) restrain my in-game celebrations or b) bring a team that can actually merit in-game celebration. So, yeah, I'm pretty much the comic relief...
This is how the three way Mage Knight battles used to go every week. Two players rush each other and the third would come in and clean up.
