If a Taunted fig cannot perform a legal action ("legal" meaning, by Taunt's definition) then the Taunt is ignored (this covers a taunted fig being taxied away or having a barrier thrown up around it).
I feel the Taunted figure should still have to perform an action - ie something that results in an Action Token. Especially with the text mentioning that the Taunted figure must do something.
But I guess it is simplier to rule it this way and could lead to less confusion. Basically the Taunted player can do what he can to prevent the effects of Taunt from happening.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

The overall effect of Taunt was simply to be a form of "limited action control" forced on your opponent. Even if a player did what he could to prevent a taunted fig from making an action, that's still a form of forcing a player to make a move he might not normally.

Makes sense and keeps Taunt a very useful FEAT.
I think I looked at this part "The target must either attempt to move adjacent to or attack this character next turn" as more like the Skrull / Danger Girl TA where you 'HAVE TO' do something that results in an Action Token being given.

I think this makes it worthwhile, even if this is the result of the taunt. If the taunted gets taxiied away or an ally tosses up a barrier, that's a double bonus as far as I'm concerned. That's two figures tied up for a round.
I think "shortest possible distance" needs to be defined. Is that a straight line from A to B? the path that gets the taunted to the square the fewest squares away from the taunter?
I just had an interesting idea. Perhaps each player could say what path they think is the best, and then roll for who's gets used.
But I have the sense to recognize that I don't know how to let you go...

If more than one "shortest path" is available, it is left up to the player who controlls the fig to determine where the fig moves.

If one path ends adjacent to the taunter, and another path leads one space and stops the person in hindering, which should they take? If it's the latter, taunt will be making them move when they might not have, sure, but that's sort of silly. Taunting the Hulk where he has a straight line clear path to you, and him being so enraged that he runs considerably out of the way so that he hits some rubble before he gets to you? :P

Does Taunt work on Sentinels, Sinestro and Galactus? If so that could be a really efective weapon against these pieces.
For Example, you have a force facing Galactus , if you load up some cheap desposible pieces with taunt it will really save your heavier hitters from being the target of a multiple attacks.
If you can taunt large figures would that be the focus of both actions of a Multi-Attack or all 3 of the Cosmic actions?
If you were close by hair10 I would give you some Tylenol.
Hey Hair10, thanks for keeping up with all this, I appreciate the work you're putting in.
And despite all the confuion, I still love the card.

I just came back from the STL premier event and wanted to let you guys know that Ghost_Rider_92 was using Taunt on a Sentinel. I'm not sure if it was a 100 or 200 point Sentinel (I didn't play him and didn't look that closely at his team) but he was using Taunt quite effectively with the Sentinel. He would Taunt an opposing fig so that it would have to move up to the Sentinel. He would then capture that fig the next turn! While I was standing there (after my game was over) he captured a V Major Maxim and some other fig (Viper maybe?).
See... Taunt is useful.
