What's wrong with the oval? He used that symbol for a good amount of time. It is nice to see that symbol for a change instead of the black one (even if it is a bad mock up in this pic).

what is with the bad photoshop on bat symbols? I mean "Detective Batman" and this batman both have faked chest insignias. Isn't it a part of the sculpt? Superboy had the same problem...

Can't wait to see a finished version, he looks freakin' sweet. I hope his stats aren't lame (but if they are, I guarantee I'm ripping that idiot flight suited one off his base and putting this one on!)

I have just never understood why batman "The Dark Knight" would wear a giant yellow oval on his suit. I have heard the argument that he "uses that for a target on his suit", but that still doesn't hold up to me if you want to be stealthlike.

I always thought the yellow symbol looked cool. I never thought much about the stealth thing. I figured it's Batman so he has enough skill so that a piece of his costume that might be a little more visible probably wouldn't cause him too much trouble.

Or I think of the DKR argument that that is actually the most protected part of his suit.

I too hope his stats are as good as his figure.

More than once during the 90's when he used the symbol, it was shown that he actually had an armored plate underneath it. Not so much for the benefit of the joker and the other freaks, but for the common criminals, who would get spooked and just start taking shots at him. They'd automatically start shooting at the "target", as opposed to shooting at his exposed face or unarmored cowl. It really is all very psychological.

Sets usually come out at around 3 month periods....I'd say June/July for FF, thus Sept/Oct for DC, prolly september so they can perhaps squeeze one more set in right before the holidays.

im thinking it's not a photoshop, this was done w/ the Detective bats, it's like a ink decal that's put on. the same technology that got us Mr. Terrific's "fair play" on his arms, no kid is gonna get paid .10 an hour to paint that .
