Then you have to consider that DC practically had a mega-crossover every year after Crisis/Origins...it became such joke ("how fast will this book ignore the effects of ____") that one crossover event even changed its planned ending with one month left to go (Captain Atom/Monarch/Hank Hall) just to spite the "fans" who weren't buying that carp anyway.
that was probably about the biggest travesty in comics....i loved hawk and dove and what foul exrement followed from that horrid decision...i hadnt read comics for many many years and one of the first things i had lent to em was zero hour
And what's Marvel's excuse for their continuity glitches that occur on a monthly basis?
Why does someone always try and deflect a problem by bringing up the rivals problems? We're talking about DC, not Marvel. This is how the discussions devolves into this companies better then that. Stay focused.
And since DCU has a few decades on modern Marvel and taking into account the other companies DC absorbed thorughout the years, its easy to accept them trying to clean up continuity. And alot of what they did worked. Trial and Error. They should be applauded for that. Verily.
I still would have loved to have seen the final issue of Team Titans and Duela Dent's madness infecting the world. That would have been cool.

And why does someone feel the need to tout their selective blindness and not see that happy smiley face denoting a joke?
Besides, if you're talking about continuity in comic books, it's fair game to talk about all comic books. Talking about it in a vacuum does nothing but show that one company or another has continuity problems. It offers nothing on how one might fix it, how one might see the need for it, or anything of the sort. In other words, talking about certain topics 'in a vacuum' will lead to nothing gained. Continuity is one of those topics. Character advancement in comics is another such topic that is universal. Universal topics can come into play in any discussion on comics, be it primarily Marvel or DC or Disney or Indy or whatever.
So my point is valid. DC may have continuity glitches. But it tries. It fixes itself. How's Marvel try to fix theirs? You can compare and contrast the two to come to an intellectual conclusion of which is 'proper'.

We werent talking about continuity in comics. We were talking about the DCU and Crisis and the continuity that stemmed form that. Nothing about Marvel or any other company. You brought up Marvel. And that leads to the inevitable school yard back and forth of this company is better then that company. So there is an emoticon? What does that mean? I go by the words and I maintain, why do we have to introduce the Marvel U into the conversation when there was plenty to discuss and debate about DC. This wasnt a discussion comparing and contrasting the companies continuity problems. Alot could have been gained by just focusing on DC and what they did right, wrong and what they might have done instead. Introducing Marvel into it all fuzzes the focus. And it always and I do mean ALWAYS ends up with everyone taking sides on what company is better. So why not cut it off before it starts.

I will give DC some credit, I might not agree with all the after infinite crisis Hokum but all of Continuity is much cleaner now.
I HATE the fact that they made the Batman Begins origin the modern era Batmans origin. Also I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Richard Donners run on Action Comics. Oh, by the by, Superman is my favorite character. But at least continuity is cleaner and there are no unaccounted for characters. Like Power Girl.
what? Batman Begins new Origin? what they are doing??! they are burning all the great "classic" origins?

You know I never even thought about it that way. The company did screw up a decent (not great) story line out of spite. They disregarded the fans because their surprise was leaked. Thats just asanine. Punish us and we dindt even do anything. It slike a spoiled brat all mad and pouty and saying ill fix you.

They couldn't have some fan-boy knocking up a super-hero, so they didn't write me in. Kara was beating some demonoids down near Lakenheath and I was young, in-shape Airman. My pals said I couldn't get her after her fight was over. I invited her to "The Bell" for a pint, one thing led to another.
Dang, I paid child support for years and the kid grew up in months?
Right. The topic wasn't talking about continuity in comics.
It was just talking about continuity. In comics.
Where's that "I Win" button I left laying around?
Funny how someone with nothing to say uses a lot of words. The topic was about Power Girls baby if you want to get technical. I should know. It was my question.
Bored now.

Actually, come to think of it, Joker was shot in the head a few months ago and yet, he's driving around with Robin last week or so, no apparent scar on his face. Hmm...
There was a blurb at the begining of the book that says it takes place before the issue where Joker was shot
I must confess....I am the father of Powergirl's baby. I now have custody of said child because the Courts decided she was a bad mother.
Well, if the Psycho Pirate's mask is still able to pick up all the realities that arent around anymore, then you can all be Power Girl's baby-daddy.

Till next week, when the Joker of Earth 2 run afoul of New Earth's Batman.

Eh, why not? Bats is always gettting things beaten, bloody and broken on his own body and yet still fights on, seemingly endlessly.
as for what happened to PG's baby, it's Lusiphur. Course, he just likes to be spanked by women dressed like PG, but that's besides the point. In his own reality, the women really are PG.

Wouldnt it be funny if Supernova turned out to be PGs missing son? Makes as much sense as anyone else. More sense power wise.
