and a beautiful tragic ending to Magneto's life, not to mention a wonderful end of the X-Men to cap it all off. But now look where we are 2 years later. Magneto was never really dead for circumstances that aren't clear
See all of that happened before, during, and after Morrison's run.
I don't think it's worth being offended by. I like being entertained. If something doesn't entertain me I don't bother with it. As far as I care Jack of Hearts is still alive, Rhino is still a keychain, Deadpool featuring Cable is Marvel's top selling book, and the New Thunderbolts trounce the New Avengers like Agassi slaps a Tennis Ball().
If death in comics holds no meaning, no permanancy, then I never need really fear for the fate of any character. Without this fundamental tension in any showdown with a villain, there can never be any real suspense or real sense of danger for our hero because if he'she dies, I can be sure he'll be back before the proverbial corpse has a chance to cool. Without that, why do I even want to read that comic? Just to see how they keep coming up with ideas to raise the dead? I think not.
Re-writing/ignoring history and preposterous/frequent resurrections are just the products of lazy writers. Plain and simple, no more - no less. With so many ways to spend my money these days, I can and will no longer support them. Goodbye Bat books, Avengers & all other Bendis books. Guess I'm pretty much down to Conan and She-Hulk.
I think the biggest recent "ret-con" that hate the most is the Gwen Stacy thing. The one where she slept with Norman and had 2 kids by him... UUUGGGHHHH.
I'm ticked about Colossus. I never really liked him a whole lot, but when he sacrificed his life to end the Legacy Virus, it was a sad and heroic story. And now, if I'm not mistaken (I quit reading the x-books during Morrison's run, which I didn't really care for) Colossus is alive again. This kind of thing (another example is Jason Todd coming back) takes a beautiful, tragic, heroic story, and totally makes demeans the worth of it.
I do admire when the companies try something new and daring, but bringing people back from the dead isn't it.
i have no problem with collosus coming back i thought it was done well, or jason todd since no one really cared about him till he died anyway, as for bucky he should have stayed dead, now the term "bucky dead" means nothing!

Oh no, we cared...enough to VOTE, so that he would die.
Me, I don't really have a probnlem with dead characters returning.
Also, anyone that gets offended, when it comes to comics, probably shouldn't read the titles that they are offended by.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
I read comic for entertainment and really don't become over zealous about characters.
Jason Todd being alive I think was well done. Bringing him back as a villain and instead of a heroe was a great idea.
Buckey being a super spy is great because everyone just thought of him as a side kick and now he has become a real threat.
New Avengers is a good read and a the idea of bringing two loners(Spidey, Cage) one messed up mutant with baggage(Wolverine), A powerful being who is being looked after(Sentry), A mole that really wants to be a hereo (Spiderwoman), The all American boy (Captain America), the rich playboy millionair that is a recovering alcoholic is great because of the relationship and self image of these character. I mean Peter has the worst inferiority complex of these character while Captain has the best self image of all of them because he really is not Steve Rogers but Captain America the hero of the nation. While Wolverine is a killer and who has accept what his done and who he really is. Tony is a rich white man hanging around with an black ex convict. The Sentry is a hero that can go nuts at any time and who is going to stop him. Spider woman is working for Hydra and yet doing superheroe stuff with this group. I think the team dynamics is great.

amen. I love your line about lazy writers, that is what they are.
Oh, Bendis suck, bring back Jason Tood is worst. Bucky is back?! Oonly sh..!
After read the Boneyard bios I know what he is not only a Suerman clone ALSO they "say" what he was a Avenger or hero and something take out the memory??!! COME ON! is not only bad, really bad.
ALSO that was the exactly history of a DC Hero in ero hour, someone remember thename, was a guy blonde with the same thing (Nobody remember him but he was a JLA hero etc)
John Byrne, He can be a asswore but what I love about him is what he is always trryng to put back to the oigis to all the characteres what he touch (Ecept She Hulk what he made bether than ever) all in John Byrne is a respect homenage to the original creators.
