Well, there is a small problem with JSA... it's about to be finished.
I buy some for the characters (Nightwing, Outsiders), some for the writing (Legion of Superheroes... a GREAT comic), and some for the pure scale of it (Batman/Superman, Infinite Crisis, Green Lantern Corps, Civil War, ect.). But I was just thinking about this 5 minutes before I sw this thread, and I just realized the one book that, month after month, I really look forard to getting... and I freally hadn't noticed how much I'd become a fan.
Birds of Prey.
For some reason, they just can't seem to screw it up, even when they try. So, I'd say that and "Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes", depending on your preference for street-level or cosmic-level stuff. But Outsiders is still pretty good.

No Mr. Terrific (he's with Checkmate)
No Green Lantern (he's with Checkmate)
No Jay Garrick (he's the "new" Flash... kinda)
No Power Girl (she's completely wrapped up with Supergirl)
So how are they gonna pull that off?
I still say buy Birds of Prey. You ust can't screw up cool-### hot chicks that are funny.

I'll 127th the New Avengers love. It's the comic that single-handedly brought me back into collecting.

All-Star Superman - It's just great, but it's more or less quarterly now.
Seven Soldiers - This has been really fun, but there's only one issue left so trades might be better.
JSA:Classified has been better, IMHO, than JSA itself these last few arcs. Joohns is coming back soon though. Even though he's hit or miss with me, on this title he's almost always hit.
Historically:
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run
Neil Gaiman's Sandman
& Peter Milligan's Shade: The Changing Man
She-Hulk is awesome. A great combination of plot, humor and action. If you can find it, pick up She-Hulk #3 of the current run (#100 of all She-Hulk series combined, and thus a special issue). It has a great main story on the importance of She-Hulk, backed up by reprints by an issue of Sensational She-Hulk and Savage She-Hulk.
The same writer also writes 'The Thing'. An evenly funny and meaningful comic that respects the character in it, the reader, and marvel's continuity.
For Fables I only read the first four TPB's, but if the current quality is as good, you should really pick it up. Just try the first Fables TPB, and you will be sold :-)
Astonishing X-Men, as has been said in this posted here before, is the best X-title, and one of the best comics generally.
And, for nostalgia's sake, Streetfighter II is cool to read.
Planetary-Loving this series a lot. Great characterizations, beautiful art, amazing and well planned plotline...Ellis/Cassaday have a masterpiece here.
"Listen for the color of the sky. Look for the sound of the hummingbird's wing. If you have found these things, you will know. And in response to the question "How come you sense these things?" you will answer "How come you do not?"
aren't they suppose to be intergrating the Wildstorm universe with the DC universe ?
NO
Supposably there is a crossover event idea in the planning stages, but the Wildstorm Universe starts re-launching all by itself as soon as Captain Atom leaves, sometime next month
