I don't like the sound of this... Does this mean that a Collectors Set figure will be available in the tournament? or is Atom Eve unique from what's in the Collectors Set?
Since the event specifically mentiones her as a promotional prize, my best guess would be that she'll be a purple-ringed version of the one in the collector's set.
I just got done reading the first trade and I thought the book was a lot of fun. I'll definately be picking the Collector Set up. One question for those that have read the entire run:
SPOILERS******
Do you think Invinsible should be an AE with his father? Though I've only read the first four issues, I already know what happens between those two around issue #22 or so.
Will she be a plentiful NGN-style give away or do you actually have to win the tourney/fellowship to obtain the figure? Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.
Answerman, the voting was there for clixers to tell Wizkids what set they'd be willing to pay for. If Invincibles got 40% of the vote, but only 20% of those voters intend to actually buy the figures, how reliable are those numbers? That's like letting Canadians vote in the US federal elections: we have strong opinions on who should President, but we're not the ones who have to put up with him, and the numbers wouldn't be representative of the relevant population. Wizkids is forced to abide by their promise to make a set of whoever won, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if significantly more Green Lantern sets are produced than Invincibles.
I think it's cool that Wk is doing this to help generate interest. Seems to me that they should've done this with the Giants set, and should continue to do this with all collector's sets.
But see, they didn't have to do this with the Giants set because if you are at all interested in comics and have been alive for the last decade you know a minimum of one of the characters in the set and probably more. I don't read many titles each month and most of what I do read is Marvel but I knew every single character. All of 'em.
Just reading the banter on this site it's pretty clear that a whole bunch of folks, myself included, don't have clue #1 who any of the people in the Invicible/Invincibles set are. The fact that they're doing this to "drum up interest" clearly shows that they too are worried that the majority of folks don't know the characters and thus won't fork over cash for the set. I'd be worried, too.
If this Atom Eve is a Starfire clone as others on this thread have alleged, I could easily give her a pass. If I need someone with powers like Starfire, I'd rather play Starfire. I know who she is and have been reading her and the rest of the Titans for years and years.
Yeah Kirkmans such a jerk for spreading the word about his characters having a chance at being made into heroclix.
I mean if Invincible (note the lack of an 's' at the end) was my book i wouldn't have told anybody and voted for somebodies elses characters.
Cause that a completely realistic way to deal with your creator woned stuffs.
Right?
C'mon Frontman.
You would have done no less if it was YOUR comic and YOUR characters.
I and many many people i know voted for Invincible because its one of the best superhero comics ever written and was simply the best choice.
THe best book won, get over it.
The best book DIDN'T win, as WK obviously offered GLC collectors sets quicker than you can say "Ballot stuffing."
And before you say what I would or wouldn't do, I'll tell you this. Yes, I would point out to my fans that something I created was up for some award or a collectors set. But, part of the flaw on that vote was the multiple votes from a single person. I would also have pointed out "vote only if you enjoy Heroclix," because as someone who has created products and written work myself, I can see where someone might like what I write (Activation Click comes to mind) but couldn't stand what I'm in to. If for example I helped create a collector miniature game based on World Wrestling Entertainment, I wouldn't be encouraging folks here to vote for the game just because they read my column and like it, unless they truly enjoyed the WWE product also. Trumped up votes can give a projection of higher sales, without the actual interest being there.)
However, since Kirkman himself could of voted a thousand times and ALSO POINTED THAT OUT TO HIS READERS THAT YOU CAN VOTE MULTIPLE TIMES, the whole vote process for "the best book" was tainted, and no matter how you explain it, it doesn't illustrate its popularity over any other book. Period. Prior to the vote, quite a few folks around here were hitting wikipedia to see who or what Invincible was.
I'm just hoping to hell that WK doesn't base its production run on the number of votes generated. If it does, and Kirkman's actions winds up hurting the collectors set concept after multiple sets of Invinci-turd stink up the WK warehouses to the point they're giving them away in gift bags at Duck-Con just to get rid of the smegging things; I'll really be pissed. Much like write-ins to "save Star Trek/Touched by an Angel/whatever TV show that got canned due to low ratings" it doesn't matter unless you were interested in the first place to watch. Folks showing up to vote of a Heroclix set who have ZERO interest in the game shouldn't of been involved in it. Period. It would be like me voting for the NBA all-star game. I have zero interest in the product, why should I have a say in determining who plays in the game?
But considering Kirkman's website is once again down (just checked and its been down since March,) I highly doubt he'll be springing for even one set himself, much less the 50 plus he should buy, based on his multiple votes and the multiple votes of his readers, who have ZERO INTEREST IN BUYING THE PRODUCT THEY VOTED FOR!!!!
Kirkman DID NOT tell his fans to vote multiple times you misinformation spreader!
He immediatly attacked those that went on his board claiming they did so, and told them NOT TO.
Hes great guy with a solid moral compass so lay off the attacking him unless you know what you're talking about.
For that matter it was stated multiple times by WK employess like Bro Mags that the multiple voting DIDN'T happen, but that there were many many people that tried to, and obviously thought it actually worked.
Get your facts straight before you drag someones name through the mud.
And BTW saying:
"And before you say what I would or wouldn't do"
AFTER I've already said what you would do is kinda silly...
