I liked the Flash comic. I thought it was pretty good. I would like to see Wally back, but would also like to see Jay or Bart have the spotlight for a bit before Wally returns. I'd rate it a 7.

Superman/Batman #27 Surprised there were no comments about this, since it's the only comic this week whose cover got my blood flowing with excitment. No, not for that reason. Well, okay, not *just* that reason. Featuring the return of the *real* Huntress, teamed up once again with her good friend Power Girl. Anybody else remember their classic partnership? Hello? Bueller? Sigh, kids, these days.
Too bad the story's a disappointmen. Yeah, we get to see the bodies and costumes of the real Huntress and Power Girl throughout the issue, but until the last three or four pages, it's not really them. It's Batman and Superman, whose minds have been put in the bodies of their successors. Sigh. It starts to develop the relationship between Huntress and Batman, but Batman forgets everything that happened, so nope, no development. Sigh. And to top it all off, the whole story's a dream. Sigh. And then, we're back to those hideous modern Flamebird-and-Nightwing-in-Kandor costumes. Bleah.
At least the Kevin Maguire art is pretty (especially the first page Huntress crotch shot... even it is really a *Batman* crotch shot).
Shadowpact #2 Nothing innovative here, the classic fighting evil twins story. Still, it may be a cliche, but it's a classic cliche, done well here. The new costumes are a bit offputting, especially Enchantress (who I have a hard time remembering is the Enchantress) and Detective Chimp (when did he join the X-men?).
Vandal Savage #4 Oops, sorry, that's really JSA Classified # 13 Y'know, it's sad when the reader can outsmart a supposed genius. Once the clone word is mentioned, it's obvious what Vandal needs to do. But he doesn't think about it until he gets thrashed a bit. And the fact that he makes such an elementary mistake that allows Alan to live is just pathetic.
At least we see that a lot of his rantings about his adventures in the past are just the insane rantings that they sound like. I was never too keen on Vandal being every famous person in history, although that's not specifically contradicted here.
Manhunter #23 Okay, Manhunter saves Chase, and once the obligatory fight-scene (hey, they used to be obligatory!) is dispensed with, we get to the thrilling part of the story: genealogy! Yay! Um, whatever.
Still, at least the link to Al Pratt is dismissed in a clever, reasonable way, instead giving Kate a biological link to a different, less important Golden Ager: Phantom Lady.
Manbat #3 Not sure why this was in my box, but I bought it rather than argue that it wasn't supposed to be on my list. I read issue #1, skipped #2, and skimming this issue doesn't make me wish I'd read #2. The fact I'm not fond of either Hush or Murmur could have something to do with it.
Flash #1 So, we all want to know, who's going to be the Flash? Let's get thing straight first: We know it's not Jay. We've been told this already. Then who could it be? Could it be anyone other than Bart? Look folks, the rules of narratives are pretty straightforward. What characters have been built up for us in this issue? Other than Jay, the only characters of any relevance are Bart and his roommate. Oh, and the bad guy. Assuming for the moment that the bad guy's not gonna be Flash, that leaves two candidates: Bart and his stupid roommate. One of them has to be Flash by the basic rules of narrative structure.
Now, much as I think Bart is totally wrong for the role of Flash (just as he was wrong as Kid Flash), it seems like that's who they're pushing at us. Being artificially aged without any explanation just serves to show that they're molding Bart in ways that Bart doesn't fit. It seems pretty clear that they'd only go through that trouble if Bart was going to take over the Flash role. And since he is able to access the Speed Force (sorry, guys, I was *LYING* about it being gone), one might assume that he has the powers needed to be the Flash.
On the other hand, most modern writers seem to think they're oh-so-clever when they do the old bait-and-switch, so it's very possible Bart's stupid roommate will be the Flash instead. Bart could hand over the powers and act as some weird sort of mentor on how to use the powers well... which is clearly another role that Bart should never take on. Anyway, the whole thing's a mess and I don't see any light at the end of this particular tunnel.
Justice #6 Um, since when does Giganta have a problem with her face melting? The Atom talking to Jean just brings up bad memories of recent (really stupid) comics. Off to a bad start already. Then, Hal has 7 hours to live outside the ring, or can live indefinitely inside. Why not wait a while before hiding in the ring? I'm not sure why he was so determined to go into the ring so soon, especially since he could be "lost forever" in the ring. Wonder Woman vs Poison Ivy... hot fan-fiction style action. Some good interaction between the Hawks. And then... Red Tornado is blown up... again???? But that trick never works (This time for sure!). Oh my god, they killed Reddy, you bastards. Where did Batman's electrical powers come from? The worms? And just when I thought this was mostly a pre-Crisis JLA, Wonder Woman's lasso is suddenly a truth-compeller (as in post-Crisis) instead of the classic version. "Shut up, Alfred." Did anyone else get a "Shut up, Wesley" vibe? The Metal Men... ooooh, shiny!

It will be Bart.....From what I can gather he spent 3 years in the speedforce with Superboy Prime . So he was aged properly but just not by our standards. Reread IC #7 it explained by Superboy Prime.
Superman/Batman #27- I have hope in Verheiden, but his first issue was nothing spectacular. I liked the premise of treated to a Silver Age story, but he really should have kept it as Power Girl and Huntress. I hope he right's the ship, I enjoyed his work on Superman. Rated a 6
Justice #6- This is the week for throwing things and being thrown into the sun. Also, it appears to be the week for the heroes to start coming back. I love this series. The art is great, the story flows. The heroes were down on their dumps, essentially facing extinction, but Brainiac and Lex didn't factor in Captain Marvel. Excellent. rated an 8

You didn't see the hermaphrodite of color hanging out in the background? That's the new Flash
Flash left me unimpressed and not wanting to know who the new Flash will be. There's a reason why the TV show the Flash got cancelled, its staring everyone in the face who has a copy of Flash #1. I will give it time if anyone else other than Bart is the Flash I probaly will drop the comic. I dont feel its right to discard the whole legacy of the Allen/West family that's been built up all these years.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.
Booster Gold, for all the worthlessness that he brings to the table, should have been able to prevent a lot of things from happening.
Don't you watch Star Trek and all that "Space/Time continium" stuff and paradox talk? He could end up changing the future dramatically which he always tries to avoid.
What if somehow Superman turned evil and say Booster knew from the future that only Elongated Man could beat him?!?! Ralph's anger over his wifes death powers him up to Godhood while fighting Superman which enables him to win. If his wife never died, he would never have gotten so angry and Superman kills everyone.
Ah, Booster is a man among boys to keep all that knowledge to himself to avoid the next issue turning into a Star Trek episode I say!
KILOWOG not KILOWAG, KILAWOG or KILAWAG ROGUE not ROUGE (which happens to be RED in French) GRAVITON not GRAVITRON (Decepticon that never got made?)
JSA Classified #13 - Rated 8 - Alan finally pulls in Checkmate to help finish the job, confirming once and for all that he IS the White King. However, him saying that there is no JSA, and this being JSA Classified........do we have a OYL book for JSA yet? :erm:
There IS a JSA OYL book, but in it the team is disbanded and brought back together to fight the Gentleman Ghost. so techniquely there is NO JSA right now.
Nowhere else have I seen anyone comment on this, but there was something I found VERY interesting in this book. Green Lantern is HUMAN again. He is no longer the "living embodiement of the green Flame" nor has internalized his power like JSA said he did before. Savage waited till his charge expired and then Alan had to recharge with the power battery that we haven't seen since around Zero Hour.
He gave up the power of the Starheart during the princes of Darkness storyline back in JSA 47-51. Mordru had ripped the starheart out of Alan and I think Jade gave a portion of her power to revitalize her dying dad. After they defeated Mordru, Eclipso, and Obsidian Alan did not reclaim the power of the Starheart and became Green Lantern once again. Something like that....

Are you talking about the Flash from the 27th century?
he moved on to the 853rd century and became the Flash for the Justice Legion A. He was in the DC 1,000,000 disaste-err-I mean mini series. The last appearance of those characters was in Hourman, and he was still in that century. BTW the short lived Hourman series was the only good thing that came out of DC 1,000,000 which royally screwed up continuity.

Yeah that was when he started wearing the ring again. But he said something about it still just being ornamental, a focus. That power Battery hasn't been seen since that stupid Green Lantern: Year one annual where Parrallax stole it.

I remember when Parrallax stepped on and crushed Alan's ring.

Now thems words of wisdom! Or you could have mentioned Christopher Lloyds character in the Back to the Future flicks.... he gave a darn concise explanation in there as well.
So, you are correct, Booster Gold; hero.
Yes, but you're a surrealist! I'm a normal guy!
Gil Zoo Crew or bust!
