I have to admit, that's one of the attractive things about reading the Ultimate universe. It's probably the main reason I read Ultimate X-Men in trade.
Millar's stories are pretty exciting, so that's why I read The Ultimates.
did you read the ultimate spider-man story where he and wolverine swapped bodies? that was the funniest story ever! then later spidey says "you guys are $&#*&^#*&^#*& #*&*$^&ing*$&(*$&ers!!!" then he swings away, and colossus says "why am I a *$*($, I was just standing here"
If they can bring back Jason Todd they can bring back anyone, I wouldn't put it past a hack writer to use Thor to punch the walls of his dimensional prison to bring back Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy.
No no, if they can bring back BUCKY, they can bring back anyone.
Ahem.
Continuity is important. You can't just make stuff up as you go, disregarding what happened last week. On the other hand, comics have run into the problem that continuity can cause on the OTHER end of the spectrum: Too much baggage.
Strict continuity is great for a TV show or a short series, but when you've got five X-titles running for 40 years, things start to get confusing.
So, I would say that in comics, continuity is fairly important.
