Brad Meltzer needs to take his ego out back and put it down now, before it starts getting even bigger. Seriously, plugging a new novel? Who bothers to read it?
I read it and really liked it. I figured since I loved Identity Crisis and loved this issue, I wanted to see what else he has written.
When talking about Hawkman, Batman mentions wanting Arthur and Victor because they are "tanks." I'm embarrassed to ask, but who is he referring too?
Arthur [Curry] is Aquaman and I'm assuming that Victor [Stone] is Cyborg.
I knew I would feel like an idiot when I realized who they were. All I could think of was Arthur Light and Victor Creed, both of which were obviously not who Batman was referring to (unless some really crazy things are yet to happen in 52).
I picked it up mainly because I'm a GL fan, so when I found out Hal was back on the team I got really excited...
...However after reading it I'm very interested now in Red Tornado. The character development for him in this one issue alone was fantastic, and I'm really happy that the first story arc is kinda sorta centered on him.
I would just like to say that the words "Dick" and "broke" should never be used next to each other. Nor should they be in the same sentence. I actually felt a sharp pain when I read this sentence.

Well, as good as the team looks on paper, let me warn you that they get trounced when you play their team as clix. Well, I did anyway
How many points? I've never been impressed with Vixen or Arsenals clix representations....... Red Tornado being included in Collateral Damage with Ralph Dibney and Kyle and the Emerald Empress however was absolutly freaking AWESOME!!!!! (only problem is it was Red Tornado in his Young Justice underroos instead of the old, better costume.... but that's a small quibble.)
Yes, but you're a surrealist! I'm a normal guy!
Gil Zoo Crew or bust!
What's up with Wonder Woman? If you guys are also reading her series, then you know that she is Donna Troy now. If you listened to Terry Dodson on the DC Podcast, then we know by issue 4 she will be neither Diana or Donna. So, why is she Diana in JLoA?
Which one of these series is out of continuity, anyway?
I'm guessing it's Wonder Woman, because in BoP, Cheetah is still all furry, and in WW she's back to human again.
Or is JLoA #0's "other Earth" really New Earth, and JLoA is takig place on Earth 2.1? I hope they clarify this soon, or we're looking at yet another Crisis in the works.

Great points. I believe they both take place in the same world, just different periods. We'll have to see what the usually-late Heinberg does with the Series.
The only thing that didn't make sense to me was the rationale that Hawkman is a tank on par with Captain Marvel and Power Girl. He is a man with fake wings and a harness. I see 10 of them a year at a gay pride parade. He is not on par with Power Girl or Captain Marvel. He does not belong in the JLA.
And from #1, it looks as if they will be given some long-due spot light to Mari. Vixen is a great character. The only thing that confused me was when she used the senses of a Doberman in the bar. I know her powers are similar to Animal Man's, but I thought the totem limitd her to the animals indigenous to the African continent.
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

Most interesting to me was that Psycho Pirate is back and as some sort of Supervillian dealer. I think that might be an intersting new take but they should eep the classic costume
