don't know about Ralph being Fate, but Fate is due back soon... it is, after all, a matter of fate.

I was really hoping that they would leave Ralph as he is, and take him back to his detective roots. I don't know if I like the idea of Ralph as Dr Fate; I really like the wacky Ralph, and I don't know if that will translate well as Dr Fate.
Won't it hurt if his nose starts twitching under that full-face helmet?

I think this would be a bad idea. Remember when Hal Jordan became the Spectre? It sucked. Bad. People wanted to see Hal as Green Lantern, not the Spectre. Ralph Dibny is the Elongated Man, not Dr.Fate. Yes the Jean Loring/Eclipso rivalry might be cool, but I just don't see this as a move that would end up working out. That is if it even happens.

Pretty much sums it up for me right there. I like it. it's a different twist, especially if Jean Loring continues as Eclipso.

Actually I don't think he stretches anymore... he has to drink his Gingold for that and he's been on the wagon for a while now.

I'd like him to be Dr Fate... for a while there I was worried that he was going to come out of the closet since one of those writers tends to have issues with that and DC has not had a character do that yet as far as I know.

However, I think the idea of Dibny as Fate is pretty cool. It seemed to me that whatever power posesses the helmet was telling him to for his grief and hopes of resurrecting Sue. He said yes all too quickly. I forsee it becoming an issue some time in the future.

Ralph as Dr Fate sounds pretty good to me. Ralph still being crazy and imagining Nabu talking to him... that wouldn't be so great. Particularly if he puts the helmet on and gets liquified like the last guy... I guess we'll see. There's no predicting DC these days!

Well I don't think Ralph will be the new Dr. Fate, DC already announce that the new Fate will appear in early 2007, don't remember where I think it was a DC Nation.
