I'm curious, was this thing actually viable back in the day? I just had an "event" (it only had one other player in attendance) where you could only use pre-carded figures. I brought this thing. My opponents were Doomsday, Ulik, & a Mandroid Armor. This was absolutely no contest. I'm wondering if Batman Allies might've brought the combo we know well today of Stealth & Outwit, allowing the entire team to go to town on this, or if there was some other element to the metagame that made this not broken. If it really was just super-broken for the time, then I feel really bad for being "that guy."
Non-binary. Please refer to me in "they/them" pronouns. Thank you.
@Organous: While not a super-meta fig like Firelord, this thing was actually quite viable back in the day. Modern players look at these old colossals and write them off as weak, but you have to look at their rules sheet to really grok their potential. They have complete immunity to a ton of powers -- Incap, MC, PPB, and Poison to name a few -- they have Multiattack, and more, they have the Capture ability. That's really the Sentinel's bread and butter, just give it the proper backup to hoover up the enemy tentpole, take it back to your starting area (it has auto-breakaway), and boom, instant double victory points. I never heard about them being played "professionally" (never kept up with the serious HC player scene though) but I had a lot of fun with the Sentinels (this one and the Advanced Sentinel from DoFP) and Dark Phoenix back in the day.
