If you can get a wire from your 360 to your router, I'd highly recommend going that route. Wireless stuff can be a pain in the ### to setup, especially when you start getting multiple devices involved. I have my router right next to my 360, so I hardwired it and it set itself up in, like, two minutes.
I honestly dont think Ill be able to get the wireless working. You're right it is a pain in that arse (£60/$120 down the drain)
Maybe Ill just have to wait till I get a PC in our room....but that will still involve getting the PC itself linked to the router.
Why the #### cant it just be ONE SIMPLE PASSWORD system.

That's pretty much how mine is setup. Sucks that you can't get it connected, and I know nothing about computers, so I can't really offer any support of any kind. :disappoin

Eh, that's kind of asking for magic. We work with a lot of wireless routers and IP setup in my industry, and it's really annoying stuff. Between mac addresses and IP ranges and security settings, it's just a lot of trouble.
I wish there was a one-touch solution, but more often than not you end up tweaking all sorts of stuff to try and get a solid connection.
Call MS with your router info on hand, though. They can probably talk you through it.

I thank God every day that the Federal Reserve won't let us use wireless networking at financial institutions. That's one huge headache that I don't have to deal with.
Then again, waiting for the phone company to come out and route new cables through the building is always a pain in the ###.
At home, I have a lot of luck with my wireless networking, but I don't use anything other than access control. I allow specific MAC addresses to access my wireless router, and I don't use any passwords, WEP keys, or any of it. My wireless stuff stays connected, and nobody's ever prompted for a damn thing.
Again, Rez, I wish you'd get me that router's serial # so I could walk you through getting this done. If you don't want to talk to Microsoft, talk to me.

In my experience, wireless stuff either goes smooth on the first try, or it fights you every step of the way. Once you get it working, though, it's fine.
All I have accessing my wireless router are two laptops and my DS. The 360 is hard wired. Everything gets along fine.
My gamertag is tastyspleen, though I haven't been playing much at all recently... bah work and other real life things getting in the way...

"No. Because it's just too obvious."
