Civil War #6 - Rated 7 - It was with this issue that I realized that this whole "Mega-event" is just the build up to stuff to come in the new year. I mean back in the old days an "event" wrapped up, this won't. There is no end to the "limited series". Even if Cap wins the battle so what? Doesn't change anything. Anyways Caps side and Tonys side face off in the prison.
I disagree. It looks like at th end of CW the war itself will be over, certain teams and relationships broken (Avengers, FF, Reed and Ben, Cap and Ironman etc...) Yes they are going to be changes moving foward in the Marvel U, and CW won't be forgotten tomorrow, but the CW itself will be done
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.

So as you would normally put it: a few teams are going to be scattered for a bit but we know they'll eventually get back together and lasting changes won't really be anything of import plus there's a whole other year of stuff to really lead into the payoff?
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

It's the equivlent to DC's countdown and related books. Just Marvel's only pitch was "Things won't be the same after this event." And noone believed them because that's what they say after every major event.

I'm surprised no one has commented on Planet Hulk this week.
Well, anyone who ever says Marvel is 'more realistic' can go soak their heads after this issue. The fight scene is AWESOME! Hulk goes nuts! When the Red King starts a chain reaction which will crack the planet in half the Hulk swims to the center of the planet, and holds the entire planet together! Yes, you read that right, HULK HOLDS AN ENTIRE PLANET TOGETHER UNTILL THE EXPLOSIONS STOP! Eat your heart out Superboy Prime.
All hail King Hulk!

He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
I have a question about Civil War #6: haven't Punisher and Captain America fought in the past? If so, why would Punisher whimp out now? I also thought Punisher immediately shooting and killing the bad guys that walked in the room was stupid and seemed pretty forced, especially since Punisher getting beat up by Cap doesn't really affect the plot much. I guess it shows Cap doesn't like killing, but hell, we already knew that. Most of Civil War seems very forced, so I guess that's not a surprise that this issue had a lot of people out of character with events and dialogue that was half-assed or forced. I do like the last few pages with Iron Man's team appearing and looking like their charging dynamically on one page, but on the next they're standing still staring at Cap's team. The whole stare-down thing was so corny it made me laugh, which was nice, but probably not the writers and artists intended reaction.
My only hope is that the Big Lebowski kills me before the Germans can cut my d### off.

Cool! I'm not the only one, then. How in the heck is it that Spidey and Iron Man fight Cap, a guy they clearly respect, and the most maniacal SOB in the marvel Universe doesn't (especially if he's fought him before)? I can't even buy the military respect as a reason, since Logan, who actually served with Steve has fought him a few times.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC

I think it was supposed to show how BOTH Cap and Punisher are morally superior to Tony.
Cap was pissed the Villains were brought in.
So was Punnisher.
They then disagreed in how they dealt with it.
I also love how Annihilus is out destorying countless planets and the Watcher is STILL on Earth. Annihilus gets no respect.

Annihilation #5 of 6 (6 of 10): This issue was good for about a little less than 1/2 of the book. Then it tangents onto the Kree with Ronan and SuperSkrull having an "odd couple" moment and killing Ravenous and the House FIyero. Then Ronan decides that the Supreme Intelligence should be no more. This was the first issue that left me a little underwhelmed. That's ok. Honestly, my feeling would be that they left the Kree business for a one-shot and should have focused on the main storyline of Annihilus and the resurrection of the Surfer and Galactus. And the big G is angry. Really angry.
# 6 will be "DA BOMB!" This issue, not so much.
Amazing Spidey #537- (6 of 10) The Kingpin wants to hurt Peter. He sets up a deal with an assassin. Not only that but some "con artists" at the "no tell motel" Peter, MJ, and Aunt May are at, drops the dime that he's there. Captain America goes literary on us and Spidey feels impowered.
Man I hate Civil War.

Civil war #6 of 7: 4 of 10 Do you not get the feeling that this will end and it won't really end? At least not for a year? Punisher kills another couple of forgettable villians and gets kicked out by Cap. So Changeling faked out Tony and crew and released all the prisoners in the Negative Zone. Then the 2 sides are going to fight. This story has been a dud. The best part? Looking at that failed character, The Sentry. He's all powerful. Universe shaking. Yet all he does is talk or pose. Way to go Marvel. What a joke this all has been.
I didn't buy this issue. I read it and put it back. And rightfully so. Drek.Gar-bage.
