Horror comics are still around a little (not as much as they once were, but still) Hellboy and Spawn are definitely horror comics.

"Dead Like Me" really was the best show ever! It ranks way up there with "The Prisoner" did you ever see that one?

I haven't seen Jericho, and I gave "Lost" 2 episodes before I stopped watching it. I watched one episode, and the bald guy was angry and the young guy had a bunch of flashbacks, and my questions about the backstory of the show were not answered. I watched another episode some time later (several months, at least) and absolutely nothing has been accomplished, except the bald guy is toting around a handgun. It was stupid and dull, and entirely pointless, I don't like it at all because they almost never answer any of the questions they pose.

Anyway, yes, Heroes is the best show on this season, but it's not back until APRIL 23RD!!!! Why do they get to take a 6 week vacation in the middle of TV season? I can't even remember the last time I watched an episode of Heroes

They're always putting in little number tricks like that, even on the cartoons. In an early Justice League, when they were in the alternate dimension of the Justice Lords (basically the CSA), Batman frees Flash (or maybe the other way around, its been a while since I've seen it) by punching in a numerical code that matches the street date for Detective Comics #1 (something like 101939).

Then they did it again in the last season of JLU when Lex punches in a code with 69 at the end of it. I don't know the significance of it, but I'd bet something important happened to Lex in an issue of Superman with those numbers. Maybe the first appearance of the Secret Society of Super-Villains?

I'd be more impressed with Jericho if there was a town in Kansas close enough to Denver (already a problem) to see it get nuked.

Best horror comic to survive was the Specter. He'd not kill anyone directly. Turn a guy into a candle, the light the candle. There ya go.

Pretty much way over the top for the strict interpretation of the CCA. The Spectre being a heroically portrayed dead guy was strictly a no-no.

and the Spectre (like all of the JSA) went away around that time and wasn't seen again until the silver age 10+ years later.

Among one of the more interesting rules of the CCA - and the reason an issue of 'Mazing Man wasn't approved one time - was a ban on of the word "zombie". That's right - they took a cue from Sean and prohibited the Zed-Word.

Not that the CCA used any, but, what was their reasoning on banning the word "zombie"?
