I have 4 videos up in my file share. I sincerely recommend the 2nd one, which I shared with Sire and Fro already. It's quite hilarious.
I'll be up for Halo 3 after about 11:00 tonight.
Three gripes thus far:
1. The assault rifle needs more friggin' ammo. If this is the gun you're going to spawn with, you need to be able to defend yourself (with some skill and luck, obviously). This gun doesn't do it.
2. Grenades are a tad unavoidable. Despite the new jump height and all, it's very easy to miss a grenade being thrown. It feels like the animation doesn't even follow through some times, so a grenade gets thrown, even though the guy was shooting you the whole time. I'm getting killed from beyond the grave a lot.
3. Flag or Bomb + Bubble Shields = unkillable
There's pretty much no way of taking people out behind bubble shields or other doors of this nature, without running them over with a ghost. They made the melee with these "weapons" even more powerful now, so that they kill you in one swing. So they just sit there at the shield, waiting for you to come closer, and you have no options at all.

I tend to agree. Often I find myself running out of ammo as the same time as my opponent, and then it's either haul ### away, or throw a grenade. Or just see who ran out first and have a duel, lol.

I appreciate this. As a person who used to be really annoyed with the fact that my grenades NEVER KILLED (I always had to follow up with a BR or whatever) it's a delightful change.
Besides, who uses frags or plasma anymore? Losers. That's who. Spikes FTW.

Let em camp. Just wait out side, or run in slightly, drop a frag or two, and then lay into them as they come outside. The bubble shiled IMHO is cool, and a neat gimmick, but by no means the game breaking device that many people had predicted.
Edit - my roommate has a hilarious video of him dropping a trip mine onto my base's missile pod, and me running over to it and being killed.
I didn't know why it was glowing, but I was hoping it meant it was "super" or something

That used to be my answer as well, until I played Oddball on Snowbound, and had the opposing ball carrier pull this stunt with it. Camping is not an option. And he did it with the doors to the two facilities, rather than an actual bubble shield. So he had unlimited protection.

Hmmm, I haven't actually played oddball yet, but I have used the Bubble shield in there and was virtually invulnerable with all those force fields
Hmmm, I can see why that could be an issue, but I don't think that a small thing like that should be seen as a major beef with the game. More than one person going at him, or a well timed spike or plasma grenade takes care of it.
Yeah I gotta say I really like the saving your video options although I wish I could look at it from different angles while replaying it. For one it'd be cool and two it could actually help me see where the hell people come from sometimes when I just seem to get capped out of nowhere.
Played a bit more last night. I was wondering if someone could help me with some questions.
On territories, does a spot get taken over faster with more than one person getting it?
I've never (to my knowledge) picked up a trip mine. Are they in your grenade slot or is it a gadget like the bubble shield?
I've not experimented a lot with dual wield yet. I've only used 2 of the same weapons. Can you do different combos?
Is the shield strictly timed or does it go away after so much damage too?
Anyway, now that I'm a little more comfortable with it, I could see it being as fun as Gears. Particularly if we're able to have more than 8 people in a game.

1. I think it captures SLIGHTLY faster, but it's a good idea to have more than one person there, in case one guy gets killed. Those spots recover very quickly if nobody's actively capturing them.
2. Yep, it's a gadget. It looks like a gear in the gadget slot.
3. Yeah, you can do all sorts of combos with dual wields. I personally have always liked Plasma Rifle/projectile combos, due to how quickly the plasma rifle eats through shields.
Using a plasma pistol/ SMG combo is pretty deadly itself. Charge up the pistol, release it at range, and fire away with the smg. They'll be completely without shields.
I've also liked the Brute weapon/SMG combo. That seems to work pretty well.
4. It's strictly timed, but an internal explosion will take out the projector. I've seen them taken out by someone popping in to chuck a grenade inside, then leaving.
And it seems that you and I are alone in enjoying more than 4 vs. 4 matches. I loved Tribes 2 and playing 16 vs. 16, so I'm always of the opinion that more is better, but not everyone enjoys the game that way.

Rumors from the modding sector have unearthed a list of on-screen text for Halo 3's multi-player and single player campaign:
The game cannot start because all players are set to observer. Too many players for splitscreen. Only 2 players may play splitscreen coop on the same Xbox 360 console. The party size is too large to start the game. Up to 4 players may play coop on Xbox Live or System Link. Loading information from Xbox Live...
