Sorry, I once again have forgotten what a thread is about due to Karl's Golden Globes avatar. The hot cartoon lesbian overtones in Shel's avatar do not help either....
Oh, I'm a trader and I endorse this thread.

If you sell an item to someone with a higher feedback then you, do you have to send the figure before they pay?
Depending on a sellers iTrader rating, I would ask them to send first and then I pay. $10 of paypal is the exact same value as a $10 figure, and I might very well ask you to ship first before sending my figure. Why not the cash?
A very annoying (and growing) trend over the past year or so is the whole "Less iTrader rating sends first" though. Back when the site started, it was more or less accepted that after 5 trades you could swing a simulsend. It's grown to 10-15 (still okay I guess), but some traders take it literally and you could have 25+ trades, but if they have more, you send first. Funny when I've offered jokingly with the roles reversed as me with the higher trade rating, that they get upset and rude!
Babbling...stop now.

I asked a question and I am not sure if it directly related to feedback but It has a big part so I was wondering if someone would answer as nothing ever got said.

I only ask as when I was looking to sell stuff on the Realms, the sale thread said all rules are basically the same as on the trade threas.
Sorry if this is the wrong place/thread, but I was very interested to know.
I'm pretty sure that there's no set rules on the subject, but my opinion is that a seller should have should be paid first *unless* they have a much higher iTrader, like maybe a difference of 25.
I agree with the idea that $10 is the vamue as a $10 figure. I wouldn't want to lose either of those. I would suggest to take it on a case by case situation. If you're uncomfortable with the person selling's rating, ask them to send first. If they no and you're still uncomfortable, I wouldn't bother and just move on to the next opportunity.
Something that I don't think was ever officially mentioned, seller in the Selling/Auction forum need to have an iTrader of at least 10, to hopefully show that they are capable and decent traders. Also, if something seems shady to you, you can always PM one of us mods and we'll look into it. I'd much rather be overly precautious than have a scammer running about.
What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right.
So where's the karma, doc? I've lost my patience.
We spent a lot of time neglecting our jobs, familes, and friends to get our rating so high just so we could lord it over you!!!!
Seriously:
The problem isn't the rating its people using this site to scam other people. The number of trades are indeed an indicator of how much the person can be trusted. Its not fair for trader x to look promising with 20+ feedback but trader y who's traded twice as much and has been honorable but has a lower feedback just because those he's traded with are just too lazy to leave feedback..
Rock's not going to sweat it if I miss sending him a +
Hair10's not going lose his #1 spot just because I missed his +
However, if nobody did then they'd have 0 feed like anyone else..
Roob Newbie IS going to miss going from 1+ feedback to 2+. Hopefully when someone see's Roob's feedback of two they can see a seasoned trader and somoeone else has enjoyed trading with Roob. Then 3.. Then 4..
There has been times when I've looked at new traders feedback.. I then look at there feedback left for others. Once or twice I've noticed all of these people seemed to of traded with each other (And afer only be on for one whole day- Impressive).. These are the easy ones to spot. Easy to get 10 feedback this way.. Don't read WHEN they got it and decide 10's your magic trade number and then *poof* Your the next contestant on Rock's Bounty Hunter's page!!
Once or twice I've sent 1st to someone with a low feedback just cause life stuff was going to make it hard to send the following week.. Got burned twice in a row and then started asking people to send first. I've relented some but one of the disadvantages of having a high trade rating is you've probably been burned a few times getting there.. I've been trading on here a couple of years and traded often. Good chance I'm not going to rip off your Rookie Black Manta. Course always use common sense (Even with me).. Once in awhile I will do a lopsided trade in your favor (Especially for somone who's done a good turn for me) but overall we all have a GENERAL idea what peice is worth what..
Anyway, feedback IS important. It helps you see the history of the person yur trading with.. New person only looking for the same figures EVERYONE else is looking for should expect to send first. When they do, send them there stuff and if everyone's a happy camper then LEAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK!!!!
Go out for a great meal you might tell 2 or 3 people.. Go out for a terrible meal you'll tell everyone you can...
Oh, ya, that's what I do for Sonic (Its called fast food SERVICE. Has anyone EVER got there orde right?)!!! C'mon, people, treat a good trade like I treat Zaxby's!! I love you, Zaxby's.. Yes I do.. Yes I do...
Ok its all coming down to me wanting just one more:
The trade forums are not to be used for retaliation in ANY WAY. Too many times I am PM'd about retalitory FEEDBACK. This just ends up being removed and getting the person in the wrong warning points and possibly banned. If you get a negative you THINK you don't deserve please contact Shel or myself.
I have a trade with an established trader here who has already recieved my figures and not bothered yet to leave feedback. Of course he also didn't ship out until he recieved mine due to being busy, I was told.
While it isn't a big deal to have feedback or not at this level, it's still nice to trade with people on the ball and not have to hound people for communication and/or common sense.
