I don't want this thread to come off as me trying to steal Carlo's thunder, but as interesting as I find his Yea or Nay thread I find it absolutely impossible to only say Yea or Nay as he requested, so I decided that it might be more interesting to start a thread to encourage people to "Rank the figures" on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being unplayable, 5 being ok, and 10 being almost broken.
After that, if you want to write about why you ranked a character a certain way, GREAT! Heck, if Seth comes over and takes a look, he might even find it a useful resource. That said, here's how I'd rank the figures:
002 Iron Man - 4
012 Shang-Chi - 10
024 Black Panther - 8
029 Taskmaster - 1
032 Red Skull - 3
047 Wiccan - 8
051 Spider-Man - 9
061 Mandarin - 7
002 Iron Man: While I don't necessarily think that Iron Man is horrible for his points, I find his Special Power completely useless. I like the old sculpt better. And the trade offs between powers and stats are largely a complete wash. The majore difference being that the old one has 2 targets, and to me, that difference is HUGE. Sure he's got a shorter range, but you can always Perplex a range. However, you're always stuck with whatever number of targets you were given.
012 Shang-Chi: What can I say, Shang-Chi is all around awesome. I'm going to love pulling him in sealed. Not to mention 58 point characters always end up being scary efficient for some reason.
024 Black Panther: All around great update for this character. The only think I'll miss is the IC Vets range. I can't tell you the number of times I surprised people with that.
029 Taskmaster: All around inferier to the Xplosion Vet, which is MUCH CHEAPER. Why would I spend so much more to lose and 11 & 12 Attack, Blades, Incap, Energy Explosion, Perplex & Outwit. The gains just pale in comparison. And his Photographic Reflexes do not make up for what he loses.
032 Red Skull: Now I'm not going to say that Red Skull didn't need a remake, and I'm not going to say that this one is awful. However, this one does get a shorter range, and loses Leadership, which I find an odd choice. I do understand where Seth is going with the Special Ability. However, with such a short dial, his going to be taking a lot of licks from himself. If he was about 20 points cheaper, he'd be much more appealing.
047 Wiccan: Looks like he'll be a great support piece. His Special Power is both helpful to his team, and to himself, since it'll push him to the points on his dial, where you'll need him, when you want him there.
051 Spider-Man: This Spider-Man is just really well designed, with the BEST of the Special Powers we've seen so far. If it weren't for the fact that this is the "Pro-registration" Spidey, he'd score a perfect 10. However, I can see myself opting for the Sinister vet more often for Theme Team purposes.
061 Mandarin: This Mandarin is the hardest to rank in my opinion. For 15 points more, you get far more diversite, and some Psychic Blast, but you do lose that front end Energy Deflection to Barrier, which you're unlikely to opt for between the Mind Control & Psychic Blast with an 11 Attack. A more "Passive" Defense power would have been far more helpful here. That said, he's not terrible, and can still use Mental Sheilds on all but 2 clicks, thanks to Willpower backing him up in most of the places on his dial where he has "Left Hand of Mandarin" in place of Mind Control.
Check back later, I plan to update this thread as new previews go up.
I'd rank them myself, but why bother when you've done it for me? Seriously, you're rankings are almost spot-on how I'd rank them. The ONLY difference is that I'd rank Mandarin a bit lower, but only because I hate the new sculpt.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
Hate the new sculpt?!?!
Its Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China! How can you not love it!
As soon as they make a Big Trouble in Little China miniatures game, I will love it. I was actually hoping for a sculpt of the Mandarin though.

002 Iron Man - 5
No real change from the old one, its all been said before on this thread
006 Moon Knight - 4
I just dont see how hes worth while in anyway. Id give him an even lower score, but due to Thunderbolts and his cheap cost I might find something he could do
012 Shang-Chi - 9
Hes not Icons Supes (the only real 10, as far as Im concerned), but you could support this guy with TA's and a feat or two, and he is the best for points
019 Darkhawk - 5
With a wildcard anything is possible, but this guy doesnt give much to work with.
021 Toro - 3
Didnt expect much, and I wasnt dissapointed
024 Black Panther - 8
He makes a great teamate, which seems to be the intent of the designer. I really like this version. Maybe not as abusable as the old rookie, but will be great in large point games
029 Taskmaster - 1
Even Babe Ruth struck out every now and then
032 Red Skull - 6
Im thinking he might be the sleeper fig in this set, where he plays much better than he looks. Keep a couple Hydra rookies as mastermind fodder, and a Hydra medic next to him, and he will play just like he should.
036 Falcon - 7
I like this guy, I really do. Not the best of stats, but hes just constantly moving and attacking and I can use that as a great secondary to go through and finish everyone off
047 Wiccan - 7
Hes not Jane Foster or a con artist, so while he makes a great support piece, I cant give him the same ratings I would give them
051 Spider-Man - 8
Love this piece, keep the dial and just give him the Spidey TA and the blue and red suit and he would be my all time fav
054 Ares - 9
With Thunderbolts to MOE, and Shellhead on this guy he will most certainly be a one-man killing machine. Hes the closest Seth's created in my eyes, to a 10 but the lack of flying (and Im not saying he deserves flying) is what keeps him from reaching a perfect 10
061 Mandarin - 7
I love options, the more the better. This guy is the definition of options
Ironman 1. What a waste of a slot, a remake of an ultimate.
shang chi 10. This is what slots were meant for.
black panther 6. Lost 2 points cos I've got to cut the rockery off the base.
Task master 9. Don't care about the points cost, I'm looking forward to playing him.
Red Skull 5.
Wiccan 5. As long as we don't have to wait 2 years for the rest of em.
spiderman 5. I already have 5 different spiders
mandarin 5.
As soon as they make a Big Trouble in Little China miniatures game, I will love it. I was actually hoping for a sculpt of the Mandarin though.
Okay, I'll give ya that. Its definitely not the Mandarian but it gives me hope for a Jack Burton look-a-like click. Closest we got so far is Damage.
Shang Chi is perfect for Wang Chi. There names are only off by 2 letters.
Sorry for hijacking the thread a little. Proceed with the votes.
002 Iron Man - 7 The Special Power is useless but he's about 10 points better than the U Ultimate version. I fully expect to see him much more often than the original on Ultimate theme teams.
024 Black Panther - 7 Pricey, but an incredible support piece. In big games he's gonna be nasty.
029 Taskmaster - 4 Pricey for middling stats. Wildcard is the saving grace. If he didn't take damage from his Special Power he'd rate a 6.
032 Red Skull - 5 Lots of support powers which always makes figures pricey (see Panther). With the right support he can be moderately effective.
047 Wiccan - 8 Meh on the character but I like the Special Power. Good dial for aggressive players - you want to push and he gives lots of good reasons to do so.
051 Spider-Man - 8 Best Special Power so far - and is the sole reason I want him. Stick him next to an Inspiring Command Captain America and he is dual-incapping the heck out of a team. "Protect this!"
061 Mandarin - 5 Front loaded Barrier means he won't be on that click for long. 156 is too much for what he does. Too much like the Xplosion Vet for 15 points more. Special Power is clever - but am I using a figure who will be 30-55% of my team to Smoke Cloud, TK, Force Blast, Barrier, or EE? Just seems a big fat target to me...
Ares - 3 The character so far stinks. He's a dull brute with a big mouth. I can go to a sports bar and see about a dozen of these - so am I reaching for him at home - nope. 275 is way too high. Pass.
Darkhawk - 2 More like "Darkwho" - this guy doesn't even seem familiar. If I don't recognize a character, there is no way he's ever being played.
Toro - 9 Average stats, a little mobility, Defender TA - kinda meh-what does this Special Power say? Now Dat's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout!!! Phenomenal special power makes this guy the first must field figure spoiled. As a player who rarely uses figures with higher than a 10 attack, auto-hitting someone while using a support power is AWESOME!
UPDATE:
Moon Knight - 7 decent cheap figure. Special Power is for a last resort. May not take the place of my CM E version - but he is a bit beefier so I could consider it.
Falcon - 6 Neat Special Power and very mobile which drives up his cost. He needs feats to really be effective and then we're moving into 80-90 point land, awfully steep for 2 damage.

Reason: Update for 2 more characters
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Well I've updated the first post to include my reviews on the Critical Hit Previews! I can't believe we're finally getting a Darkhawk, and he's actually decent.
Trades: WITH WoL H/W, also looking for Mandarin Rings, DoFP Rares & Nimrod

Likewise, but I didn't do the Feats. Reprint-tastic!
002 Iron Man - 3 The figure not counting his special power just seems all right to me, a little bit pricey for what he does. I'd rank him a 6. However, just having such a dumb, worse than useless, power makes him lose a point. He loses two more points on the revelation that said useless power makes him a big liability when facing a team with mindcontrol.
012 Shang-Chi - 10 I thought that Wildcat was a really good close combat piece, but when you factor in the wildcard TA Shang-Chi really shows him up.
024 Black Panther - 7 He has the potential to really shine with the right TAs to copy and feat cards. Unfortunately, he kind of needs those things to justify his cost.
029 Taskmaster - 2 I'm not sure when or why he would be worth his points to play.
032 Red Skull - 4 Just sort of "meh"
047 Wiccan - 6 Looks okay, nothing Shiney.
051 Spider-Man - 9 Very solid stats with an awesome power.
061 Mandarin - 7 He gets the 7 for all those powers, but generally he looks tricky to use for his points.
I won't bump it every time, (and I haven't) but I do see that I'm not the only one editing in new comments as items appear and such additions don't get it to appear on the main page, so I wanted to give others a chance to get in on this thread.
