While he may not seem to add much ... I find that because I had 4 or 5 of him (after the COG events) that when I pulled that JL Aquaman with the perplex all dolphin symbols Stingray became the perfect generic aquatic soldier. Then I pulled a Tempest and Stingray got evenbetter. Add Submerged and/or AP and hes slightly better then the Atlantean warrior because stingray has range.

Other feats that also work good with stingray are ICWO(if not using the Aquaman with perplex), and/or T-bolts. T-bolt him to Mystics if using him with Tempest. Another good one if not using T-bolts is Alpha Flight ATA.

Insane with the right support... I just played him against my dad on an Avengers Team and he stood right in front of Dr. Strange and had a 21 defense in hindering terrain and my dad couldn't hit him... I would have one if my dad didn't get the important dice rolls and I missed all my major dice rolls by 1. Worth the points.

For some reason his sculpt reminds me of the character that dies at the very beginning of the movie Kicka$$. The dude that commits suicide by trying to fly off of a rooftop.

For only 29 points, he's good filler for a Scientist theme. Leap/climb plus six range and 18 defense from range makes him a useful third-string attacker yet sufficiently challenging to put down. Outside of Scientist theme, though, I've never found a reason to put him on the team.

'Tis with a sad and heavy heart I today retire the original Stingray, quite late I know.

I'll never forget the one time he did walk up to wxm024 Havok and crit-hit his face for 3 damage, and the force of the blow blew Havok of the building inflicting another 2 damage when he hit the concrete below - It was glorious!

Here's to one day doing something like that again with the newer Stingray :)
