Mastermind fodder:
Hydra goons. Taskmaster's lackluster defense allows him to be healed easily, so that makes a case for the Hydra Technician, who is very annoying to hit with ES/D and a 17 Defend behind him. The Hydra TA boosts his ranged attack value.
Probably wouldn't happen much; but if you mastermind the right amount of damage, then take some to Taskmaster, another technician, or Shadow Lass, the technician can even heal them back up. A sneaky trick to try on a less exp player?
Hey all, thanks for reading!
Like I said in the review, I think the Xplosions are definitely awesome pieces whom are probably more easy to use and easily more annoying than the new piece. But under the right circumstances and actually trying to take chances the new one isn't as bad as many people make him out to seem.
I don't think I'd choose him for some competitive team that I needs to win whatever event your playing, but for more fun games he's definitely a good choice.

The Xplosion E Taskmaster is the best version, imho. However, the Avengers Unique is very underrated. How could you complain about a character that can borrow any character's AV or DV, despite the possibility of taking damage? When borrowing very high combat values (Ares' 14 AV; KC Flash/GL's 20 DV), it's more than likely that you will take damage (unless you roll a 6 on his 9 AV/15 DV clicks). For that reason, he works best wildcarding AV/DV TAs until he runs out of options/teammates. Lucky Break should be a requirement with Tasky.
With RCE/CCE, he always deals 3 damage on his damage SP clicks, and when coupled with Photographic Reflexes, he has a very good chance of hitting. When paired up a Bat Ally and Superman Enemy, he can Outwit a defensive power, borrow a high AV, deal 3 damage, and switch to Stealth.
At 90-110 points, he'd be a very attractive piece, but unless you're a hardcore fan of the character, I doubt he'll see very much play.

Yes. That's the cool thing about Taskmaster: he can use a free power granted from wilcarding a TA (Outwit from Superman Enemy, AV from Sinister Syndicate/Bat Enemy) in addition to CCE/RCE, and PR if necessary.
Cool thanks. I think he's pretty cool because you can pretty much increase his atk or def by 3 and have a 50% chance of not taking the damage. And in many cases 1 damage is worth taking if the increased def made you dodge 3 or more clicks.
The REV Taskmasters are all better. It is amazing to me that all this effort and all of the possibilities with the new cards resulted in this figure. I will say that the review makes the dial/figure more interesting but I probably won't be playing him.
Excellent job. Virtually everyone started out hating ol' Tasky originally but some are starting to see he isn't that bad. I'll agree with the 'he's overpriced' consensus but not with the 'I'll never play him" mentality. Is it just about winning for you guys lol? Do you ever play a match for 'fun'?
I'm thinking R All-New Atom and Shang-Chi may be Taskmaster's best friends now....
I think his special power should have allowed him to copy a +1 for free. As he is I'm looking at 140 points for 7 clicks of life and a natural defense no higher than 16. If you're really lucky you could get some use out of him. Make all your super senses rolls. Looking at all the rediculously high damage values in recent sets I think Taskmaster will be KOed in one turn. Winter Soldier is half his cost and completely outclasses him in all areas. And the fact that he costs more than Red Skull with the Cosmic Cube and nearly as much as Iron Man... For goodness sake he's among the most expensive figures in the set and he's got astonishingly mediocre stats.
I'm so disappointed.
I'll use him if I get him though, 'cause I like Taskmaster. smiley

The most arrogant think their view is the only normal one.
On the positive side I would like to praise Wizkids for pretty accurate special powers.
Now it will be interesting to see if they can do something similar with Rogue/Parasite and stealing powers.
These might be the most difficult comic characters to recreate.
Personally for Rogue I'd do something like:
Damage power Power Theft:
When Rogue has steal energy, when she successfully makes a close combat attack choose one power on your opponents dial to copy. Power is no longer copied when Rogue Loses power Theft or she makes another power theft attack.
That would allow her to have super strength on these clicks too.. That's my 2 cents..

I just keep hoping his cost is a typo! When the errata comes out, I'd love to see "Taskmaster's cost is 104pts, not 140." That would seem a much more plausible cost for what this figure can do, and how powerful the character is in the comics. He's definitely not at the 140pt level with r. Supergirl, Kalibak or even Piledriver... but I could see him standing his ground against 104pt Pulsar or Punisher 2099.
[Please, PLEASE tell us it's a typo!]
Maybe one day I'll bust out a team to utilize him to the fullest, for the most part though I can make Black Panther better and he gives me a 48 points headstart on this TM.
