Or what about the venues that normally wouldn't purchase that much product, and no one comes for any event BUT wk 5. Now they bought that much product anticipating selling it all during weeks 1-4 and are stuck. Oh yeah, THAT'LL help venues...
If they can't move the product then they shouldn't have signed up for the events in the first place.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
I'm not requiring all 5 at my venue... though any Heralds you use DO have to be received from a prior event at said venue.
Besides, I think you'd want to come to at least a few prior weeks, just to get the heralds for the last week! Seriously, I will be very surprised to have a non-Herald team win the Big G, unless the main character on the winning team is named "Ares".

Wouldn't saying you must play in all the Herald games be a House Rule? The listing for the CoG games has them all as Marquees under their Event Type, and thus not subject to House Rules.
This is purely academic for me as I can do all the weeks except the Galactus-prize one, thanks to WK pushing everything back a week...
WK has made no such requirement; any kind of 'you must play in previous tournaments to play for Galactus' is a house rule...
... and all I can say to that is any venue doing this better make d*** sure that this house rule is clearly posted as required by Approved Play (both on the on-line event description and physically posted in the venue). If I happened to be travelling or on vacation or some such during the week of the Galactus event and found a 'normal' seeming venue on line, went there expecting to play, but then got turned away by a poorly posted house rule, you can bet your bottom dollar I would report that venue to AP the instant I got near a computer with e-mail access.
One small problem...Wk has set the CoG event descriptions so that they cannot be added to or changed thus neither the venue nor the Judge can post house rules or the like in said online event description...
Lead me not into temptation, just point me in the general direction and I'll find it myself.

Or maybe they BOUGHT the product on the assumption that people would show up for the previous events. I don't think stores are getting all that product thinking that they are ONLY going to have attendance on week 5
5 cases over 5 weeks isn't hard to move with sealed events. 5 cases in one week is a little hard to swallow...
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
two simple solutions to this,... one hold the games/tourney for big g at the same time as everyone else so you are not going to see people go store to store,...
two,... only allow herlads that were issued from that venue so if I show up to your venue with stardust, I can't use her bc I didn't get her from your venue, so you would have a nice advantage since stardust has a 19 defense with ss and pc

Wow, amazing that they didn't think of this already...

Sorry, I didn't mean to jump on you specifically. I just used yours as a post to springboard off on for all those who are saying "my venue says you have to play in all 5".
thanks for saying that, i was kind of offended there for a second...

(Sufficiently related to note, as I'm sure this isn't the only instance of it.) Speaking with the guy in charge of the local venue (the store manager, not the envoy) he made the mistake of enthusiastically jumping in up front, while Wizkids was taking its time getting all the details out, and ordered at a level to support both his standard sales and the five weeks of events. It was after that was placed that word came down of the separate product code for the 5-case lots the herald packs were attached to, and he ended up having to order what he'd need for the event all over again as an additional purchase. (I don't know how much he fought it and tried to get them to cancel part of the initial order, but in the end he was stuck.) The result is many, many cases he's hoping he'll be able to eventually sell through.

I already know I am going to be on vacation in a different state during Galactus, I wasn't going to be, but they delayed it a week and now I am. I already registered to play in the state I am vacationing in and I am playing my local venue the other 4 weeks. I better be allowed to play for big G or something is going to hit the fan. If not, I may have to go all Chris Benoit on someone.
If I make you a trade offer, even if you think it's ridiculous, please at least respond with a kind and simple "Thanks but no thanks."

I hear ya,... while I understand the question that started this thread "are we going to see sharks at the battle for galactus game" I just don't think thats something to worry about
heck my venue is planing to invite as many people from WWC to play for big g after the convention on saturday,...
between WWC, big g inside boosters, and the tourney itself I'm not too worried
and thats the point of my posts nothing to worry about except bad pulls
