There's one other big difference between the Pop Machine and the Com Dish. The Com Dish will behave exactly as a standard heavy object when thrown. The +1 to damage value will not have an effect due to the object's ranged combat rules. The Pop Machine, however, will get the +1 to damage dealt when thrown.
So 3-d objects can officially be used in CoG? What about other special objects?
I hadn't double-checked this recently... it seemed that early last week the RA was saying something different, but a search of the WK site's forums might turn something up.
As far as the other special objects, no you can't use them (unless you pull them in your boosters).
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
Actually, they've never said that these are Marquees. They are standard sealed events, as far as we've been told, so house rules are allows as of now.
It's been rumored the the Galactus event won't allow house rules..... but I don't think there's been anything official (so I doubt there will be at this late point)
But yes, the official docs say they are allowed.... Norm has said in a post that they aren't in certain events....... take that for what it's worth.
actually... in the event description for the galactus tourneys the header reads as follows:
"insert venue name here" Presents a HeroClix Sealed Marquee: "The Coming of Galactus: Week 1"

The thing is, Norm can say up, down, left, right, and all day long how he would prefer the 3-D objects in tournaments like this to be handled (and most of us, being nice guys, would listen to him), but until he actually gets around to changing Sec 1.5.1 in the Comprehensive Tournament Rules document, 3D objects are technically legal in all sealed events.
1.5.1 Objects
Unless otherwise specified by the scenario, all sanctioned HeroClix games must use six object tokens. 3-D objects are legal for all sanctioned HeroClix games and may be substituted for object tokens of the appropriate type per the 3-D object rules.
Now, if he just wants to do a temporary fix for the CoG, since that section does make an exception for scenario rules, WK could just add a line to the event descriptions saying 'no 3D objects' and it'd be all good... for now, at least.

That's the part that's thrown a lot of people off.... it's been said several times by Norm and (I think) Mark that house rules are optional (specifically saying that "you can house rule X so you can do that")... meaning it CAN'T be a Marquee. From what I understood of the posts about that, "Marquee" is the closest thing that they could come up with for this as it's not a "typical event type".
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

I wonder how well that argument would fly during the Invitationals at WWC?
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
Can we just fix/update the frakkin' AP rules to whatever TPTB want them to be?
What is worse (IMO) than all this confusion (for Heroclix) is that IIRC the envoy exams are full of arely relevant questions based on this document...which we see is barely recognized by the various 'powers that be'.
On top of that insult, IIRC the Heroclix envoy exam doesn't even cover the most frequently asked/basic questions that I've seen envoys rule incorrectly time and again (e.g. when are BFCs revealed?)

In all fairness, I don't think the exams have been updated since before BFCs were released (or maybe shortly after that)....... maybe they haven't been updated since Sentinels were normally played LOL!

Captain America charged me from a distance of three spaces. On the way, he grabbed the Soda Machine. He rolled a seven with and AV of 10 =17. A clear hit. So the damage taken was 6 (Soda Machine 2 base Damage. +1 special damage. Captain America has a base damage of 3. So the total taken was 6.) :knockedou
Was this correct?
There's a reason we call it "The Coffin" around here

They were last updated for the Icons rules. I submitted updates for Danger Room but they were never put into place.

Well, since he's the head envoy for that kind of event and the envoy of record for any event has the final say in matters, I wouldn't even try and argue with him... and I hope nobody else tries to, either.
However, as I said before, if he really is pushing for this as a standard, he needs to get the Comp Rules changed so that way all the Judges can be on the same page and he won't have to make tournament by tournament rulings

Well, I can at least say it's good to know it's SOMEWHAT new references LOL!!!
