New Warriors: Turn 2

free) "Here they come, Warriors, get ready!" Night Trasher tries to keep the troops under control. Leadership roll is: 4 again, he's still got it!

1) "The evil of their leader is... overwhelming. He *must* be made to see the light!" Dagger intones. "Girl! Wait, not yet!" Trash calls after her, but if Dagger hears him, she pays no heed to his words. Dagger darts to K14 and launches twin projectiles of pure light at Yorg and Char-Kell. 9 atk. vs 15 (+1 from terrain) and 15 (+2 from deflection and 1 from terrain) def. Needs a 7 for Yorg and a 9 for both. Roll is: (3,5) an 8 and a hit on Yorg who takes 2 after toughness (unless you want to use Protected, in which case he'll push and take 1).

The infernal aura surrounding the flying alien disrupts Dagger's attack just enough to make it miss, but the ape-like Would-be Despot of New York is not so lucky. The piercing, irresistable light of Dagger strikes his eyes and causes him to howl in pain as his pitch-black soul writhes in the light of purity and goodness.

2) "You have tasted the Light of Dagger, monster. Now feel the hunger of my Darkness!" Cloak vanishes into himself, only to reappear right infront of the blinded Yorg and his handmaiden. Cloak teleports to M11

3) "DAMN! Not yet, we've got to co-ordinate this attack!" Night Trasher curses, moving into a better position to cover Marvel Boy while he regains his focus. Night Trasher moves to K17. No pushing damage due to Willpower.

4) "No-one brushes off the Black Cat!" Felicia fumes to herself. "I'll show him who needs protection!" Black Cat fires her grappling hook and swings across Times Square, landing right next to Vance and Dwayne. "Hey boys, is this a private party, or do you boys just not like playing with girls?" Black Cat leaps to J18

Nova, Spider-Man and Marvel Boy clears.

Lady Death silently avenged her lover by expertly striking Cloak on the back of his head while he was distratced with Yorg.

"Well done my love, now let me finish him." Yorg laughed as he ripped up a statue and brought it right down on the distracted Cloak, crushing him underneath. "This is the fate of all who oppose Yorg!"

Meanwhile Kurg shambled forward.

New Warriors: Turn 3

free) "Don't think you're going to get away with this! We'll make you pay for every single drop of human you spilled you monsters!" Night Thrasher hisses. 'Thrash rolls for leadership, roll is: 5 (man, Dwayne's on a roll here!)

1) "CLOAK, NOOOOO!" Dagger screams as her partner vanishes into himself. Tears streaming from her eyes she jumps back and launches another volley of light at Yorg. Dagger pushes to make a running shot to I13 aiming for Yorg. 9 atk. vs 14 (+1 from terrain) def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (3,5) for an 8 and a hit!. Yorg takes 2, Dagger takes 1 from the push.

The hairy brute screams in pain as the relentless barrage of light assails his mind and soul, leaving no shadow to hide him from the burning light of purity!

2) "Alright, This looks like a job for your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man!" Spidey grins, surveying the scene. "Hey, hot-shot, here's a little taste of Earth culture for you, CATCH!" With his amazing proportional strength of a spider, Peter hurls the broken sattelite dish through the air like a giant frisbee, aiming for Char-Knell. 9tk. vs 15 (+2 from deflection) def. Needs an 8. Roll is: (5,4) a 9 and a hit! Char-Knell takes 2 and the LO Spidey threw is destroyed.

Caught totally unaware by Spidey's improvised and brazen attack, the flying alien is too slow to deflect or melt the incoming missile and instead doubles over in pain as the dish crashes into his side. "What's wrong? Getting bad reception over there?" Spidey quips after him.

3) "That's it, I'm not leaving that babe to fight Bongo over there all by herself. You guys handle the 'roid freak for a second, I'll be right back!" With those words, Nova blasts off, heading straight for Yorg! Nova charges to M12, swinging his HO at Yorg. 9 atk. vs 13 def. Needs a 4. Roll is: (1,3) for a 4 that just barely connects (Thank you Hypertime dials!). Yorg takes 3 after toughness and is KO'ed!

Still blinded and seared inside from Dagger's light, Yorg hears the rush of wind as the young hero approaches at nearly mach 1, but is helpless to defend himself in his dazed state. "I hope you've got your ticket ready punk. 'cause it's about to get PUNCHED!" Nova yells, shattering the motorcycle he has hefting along over Yorgs thick skull! For a moment, everything slows to a crawl and the plaza falls deadly silent. Yorg, wobbling on his feet like a punch-drunk ringer staggers towards Nova, 1 step at the time. "You...will...pay...for...that..." He mumbles through broken teeth. "Yorg...rules...this...wor...." Then, in mid-sentence, the would be Despot of New York and Conqueror of Worlds keels over like a giant Redwood, crashing to the ground at the feet of the triumphat New Warrior.

4) "Alright Marvel Boy, Nova just took care of the head, now it's up to you to deal with the body!" Thrasher barks to Vance. "I'll try" Vance nods, "but I'm not sure if I can lift something so huge..." Marvel Boy tries to TK Kurg. 8 atk. vs 15 def. Needs a 7. Roll is: (1,6) a 7 and a hit (whew! Glad I did things in the order I did!). Marvel Boy picks up the suprised Kurg and flings him through the air with his TK, dropping him on top of the building in U24

The monstrous Kurg is suddenly stopped dead in his tracks when he rans head-first into a TK wall erected by Vance. Without giving the monster time to react, Vance pushes himself harder than he ever has before to envelop the suprised brute in a bubble of telekinetic energy which slowly, inorexably raises from the ground. Beads of sweat runs down his brow and a thin stream of blood flows from his nose and ears, but Vance ignores the searing pain, shuts out all distractions and focus entirely on keeping the struggling Kurg suspended harmlessly in mid-air. "Can't...hold him....much...longer!" He whispers through clenched and gritted teeth. "No need to!" Thrasher smiles, ready and release on my mark... NOW!" Night Thrasher leaps into the air and places an expertly trained flying kick in Kurg's stomach, just as Vance drops the field, pushing backwards with everything he has. The combined kinetic effect hurls the monstrous ogre through the air, across Times Square, sending him crashing down on a roof top on the other side of the plaza!

1) "Not good enough Lady!" Thrasher sneers as he ducks under Lady Deaths blow, "Here's the first small bit of payback, from the City of New York to you!" 9 atk. vs 14 def. Needs a 5. Roll is: (1,5) for a 6 and a hit. Super-senses for Lady Death is: 6! She ducks the blow at the last second.
No pushing damage to Night Thrasher thanks to Willpower

2) "Girl too fast for ya 'Thrash? Let's see her duck the Human Rocket then!" Nova lashes out with a right hook clocking in at several hundred miles an hour. 8 atk. vs 14 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (3,3) for a 6 and a hit. Super-senses for Death is another 3. It connects and she's down for the count!

Nova's near super-sonic punch proves far too fast to dodge, and Lady Death is knocked clean off her feet by the power of the blow which sends her flying through the air, landing in a heap ontop of her unconcious master. "There's that patented Nova magic" Rich grins "Ladies keep dropping at my feet!"

3) "CAT! NOOOOO!" Peter screams under his mask, leaping towards the flaming monster that hurt the love of his life, pausing only to pull a large piece of pavement to him with a web-line. Spidey leaps to N18, picking up the LO in K18 along the way.

4) Though battered and bloody, the young blonde girl known as Dagger shows no fear standing face to face with the alien, half-mechanical monstrosity leering hungrily at her. "Light will allways overcome your darkness, creature!" She whispers. "I know it, and you shall see it too!" Dagger punches Dorgan. 7 atk. vs 17 def. Needs a 10. Roll is: (5,5) a 10 and the best hit Dagger could hope for! (well, besides a critical hit ) Dorgan takes 2 and is knocked back to L13!

Blinding light flows from every pore in Tandy's body, enveloping Dorgan completely in it's merciless glow. The cyber-cannibal screams in shock and unexpected pain as his photo-receptors shut down, totally overwhelmed and utterly alien programing lines of empathy and compassion floods his CPU. Blinded and stunned the vile creature staggers back, away from the living beacon of light, and slams directly into Night Thrashers back!

1) "You're going down for this punk, going down hard!" Night Thrasher roars, unleashing a beserk hail of blows against his super-humanly fast opponent. Thrasher flurries Dorgan. 9 atk. vs 16 (+2 from combat reflexes) def. Needs a 9. Roll is: (2,1) for a 3 and a total miss. Second attack is: (5,6) 11 and a hit! Dorgan takes 1 and is KO'ed!

Thanks to his cybernetic implants and high-tech interface, Dorgan easily ducks and waves through Thrasher's flurry of blows. He doesn't, however, pay attention to his board, which Thrasher suddenly stamps on in mid-frenzy, sending it flying straight up into Dorgan's midsection. As the board impacts, the concealed edge shoots out and buries itself in the Cyber-Cannibal's guts. Shocked and stunned, the murderous alien staggers backwards, leaking oil, coolant fluid and blood and falls at the feet of Night Thrasher.

2) "Back off!" Vance yells, expending almost all of his remaining energy on a mighty telekinetic shove. Vance punches Char-Knell. 8 atk. vs 12 def. Needs a 4. Roll is: (6,6) a critical hit! (talk about absurd overkill!) Char-Knell takes 3 and is knocked clean into next week, Vance takes 1 from the push.

Vance's eyes glow with a furies inner light as he unleashes all of his mutant might in a burst more powerful than he could possibly have imagined! The unfortunate alien marauder is hurled through the air and straight through the side of one of the surrounding buildings, which, as if on cue, collapse ontop of him!
Utterly exhausted, and more than a little shocked, Vance drops to his knees, no longer able to keep himself airborne. "Did... did... I really do that?" He whispers to himself in disbelief.

3) "If you hurt the Cat, I'm going to make you wish you'd never crawled out of your flying saucer!" Spidey brings down a slab on concrete on Kurgs skull with all of his amazing strength. 9 atk. vs 15 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (1,5) for a 6 and just barely a hit. Kurg takes 2 after toughness and Spidey vaults to O19

Driven by desperation and fear for his loved one, Spider-Man leaps over the hulking brute bearing down on him, twisting in mid-air with impossible agility, to shatter the slab of concrete over the monster's skull. With the grace of a ballet dancer he lands on the ground beside the snarling beast, ready to fight to the end!

Dagger rests, and the Black Cat feels useless

New Warriors: Turn 8

1) "Let my light restore your strength" Dagger offers, putting a glowing hand of Marvel Boy's shoulder. Dagger supports Vance, 6 atk. vs 15 def. Needs a 9. Roll is: (3,6) for a 9 and a hit! (ok this is just getting insane). Support roll is: 6 (again, total overkill...)! Vance heals 2 clicks.

The soothing warmth of Dagger's internal, unquenchable light flows over Vance, removing all doubts and fears from his mind and all weariness from his body.

Everyone else rests, and Black Cat continues to feel useless

1) "Wow, I'm not sure what you just did, but I feel better than ever!" Vance smiles awkwarly to Dagger. "Now, let's give Spider-Man a hand!" With his newly restored strength, Vance unleashes another powerful TK-strike aimed at the lumbering giant's back. 8 atk. vs 12 (+1 from terrain) def. Needs a 5. Roll is: (4,6) for a 10 and a hit, Kurg takes 1 after toughness

The invisible punch strikes the enraged Kurg straight between the shoulders, knocking him off balance at a critical moment in his furious attempts to grasp the elusive Spider-Man.

2) From the shadows of the wreckage near the fight Black Cat's voice suddenly calls out. "I'm okay Spidey! Now take out that bum!" Easily ducking under another of Kurg's wild hay-makers, Peter's face lights up under his mask. "Cat, you're alive!" Turning back to the fuming (and foaming) monster punching holes in the air around him, Spidey grins under his mask and balls his fists. "Alright bozo, no-more playing around!" Spider-Man tries to capture Kurg (thanks to his Super-Strength) 9 atk. vs 11 (+4 from capture) def. Need a 6 to capture and a 3 to hit. Roll is: (1,3) a 4 and just a hit. Kurg takes 1 after toughness.

Uncoiling like a tightly wound spring, Spider-Man leaps forwards and connects with a double-handed uppercut straight to Kurg's misshapen jaw. The sound of the impact rings out all over Times Square, and the monstrous brute is hurled to the ground with a thundering crash. "Damn, why didn't I just do that to begin with?" Peter grins

3) "Careful love, he's not quite done for yet!" The Cat yells. Felicia tries to capture Kurg now that his toughness is gone. 5 atk. vs 11 (+1 from terrain and 4 from capture) def. Needs an 11 to capture and a 7 to hit. Roll is: (5,1) a 6 and a miss.

Felicia's grappling hook strikes the downed creature's head, but bounces harmlessly off his brow, no more than an annoyance.
