So let's discuss that issue, what everyone picked and what their outcome was. I went with the third option as it seemed to go with the theme of my nation the best I think. I guess if find out tomorrow how it affects my nation.

The Issue
In response to a slow news week, certain highbrow newspapers have stirred up the debate over voluntary vs compulsory voting.
The Debate
"Compulsory voting makes about as much as sense as having the death penalty for attempted suicide," says civil rights activist Hope Jefferson. "You can't force people to be free! You can only give them the choice. Besides, if all those derelicts who can't be bothered to get off their ### once every few years voted, who would they elect? I shudder to think."
[Accept]
"It's not contradictory at all," argues political commentator Naki Longbottom. "The fact is, if not everyone votes, the outcome isn't truly representative. Some groups--like elderly gun nuts--vote more often than others. That's why we always end up with such terrible politicians."
[Accept]
"This raises an interesting issue," says Beth Rifkin, your brother. "And that is: why do we need elections, anyway? Seems to me it would be much simpler if you just decided what was right, and did it. Wouldn't that save everyone a lot of time?"

And I picked the first issue. Compulsory voting restricts the freedom to choose, which I feel is an important civil right.

Since you haven't seemed to catch on with all my peace and tranquility, I'm the Utopian Way
I chose the first option - that voting should be left to the individual to decide - on that issue. It created a small blurb about voting within my nation and I -think- it made a slight nudge on political freedoms.
My second issue was "divorce rate" for which I chose to support same-sex marriage; the result of that was that my civil rights improved (well, guess it depends on your stance/view) but I saw my taxes edge up a bit (and it's already fairly high). Interestingly, I think my crime rate may have been affected - it went from "virtually non-existent" to "relatively low".
My most recent issue has been on public nudity (which I chose against) but the result of that hasn't updated yet.
I've also applied for the UN.

My taxes are astronomically high.
Looking at the top 10 for the Largest Insurance Industry, it is interesting to see that most people have either 100% tax or income tax is unheard of. And Political Freedom is often outlawed or unheard of and Economy is frightening.

Too Much Yakking, Already, Say Delegation
The Issue
Some people say Scordrag's policy on free speech has gone too far.
The Debate
1. "These days, anyone says whatever they want with no regard to what kind of dribble is coming out of their mouths!" says angry commuter Larry Love. "It's gone too far. We should go back to the good old days, when if someone started talking garbage, we'd smack them one."
2. "We need more free speech, not less," argues civil rights campaigner May Utopia. "Free speech allows ideas to be explored, challenged, and discussed in a productive, open forum. It teaches our kids to be critical thinkers. And dirty words, of course, but that's just the price you pay."
3. "The right to free speech is a central tenet of our system of democracy," says religious leader Melbourne O'Bannon. "But surely the right to not have your religious beliefs mocked by others is worth something, too? We mustn't put up with intolerance!"

I'm still trying to figure out if "Frightening" is good or bad, having looked at a few dossiers. I mean, is it "Frightening" as in "really poor economy" or "so good it's scary"?
Tried finding a glossary/explanation - also for Regional Influence - but so far no easy one other than scanning forums.

I was looking at that too. There is no way I'm going that route.
