The objects do not get any bonus from Swingline. You only get the combat value modifications when the character it is assigned to is using the feat. Arcade himself would have to move in order to get the increase to his speed value. While using Murderbots, Arcade is not moving so he does not get an increase to his speed value at that time. The objects use his speed value without the modification from Swingline.
Swingline specifically says, "Choose a character. The character ignores hindering terrain for movement purposes." The objects are treated as a character, but not as "the character". As in, the character chosen for the feat. Murderbots says to only use the speed value of Arcade. It doesn't say the objects get anything else from Arcade so they don't. If they did then it would say so.
doom623's reasoning for Armor Piercing working with Deathtraps is correct. The objects are not the source of the damage. Arcade, more specifically Deathtrap, is the source. If the objects were the source of the damage then the power would read something like, "The object deals 1 damage to each character adjacent to it then remove the object from the game."
Makes sense.

Man I just think that the whole arcane then is so silly and stupid!! It's all just a way for him to use his special abillities. Why don't they just use alittle rule's lawyering on some of the other special power too. Let's see fly-by comes to mind. It's just plain stupid to me IMO that is.

oh I did not know that we have a new Arcane, the Swamp Thing foe, remade with special power.

I still find it funny that people blame rules lawyers for what is perceived by them to be a faulty ruling.
The answer came down from Game Design almost immediately upon the figure's release. In other words, Game Design knew that there would be confusion and took preemptive steps to make it clear asap. The fact that that is ruling has nothing to do with the rules lawyers.
could you perplex arcades Speed up and then move the objects up to the perplexed speed?
Fixed it for you.
I would think you could, but apparently - even though the objects move as if they had arcades speed value, they're not Arcade.
I'm still curious to know what happens if I merc Arcade to Superman Ally.

i wouldnt think so. Say you merc to Batman TA you couldnt move the object into hindering and say the object has stealth. So i wouldnt think the object would be able to ignore hindering for movement if Arcade used merc to copy Sup TA

As far as I can tell the only attribute the objects inherit from Arcade is his speed value, certainly not his TA or any ability possessed by a feat. You wouldnt give the Objects leap climb or phasing or BFC if Arcade managed to gain one of those powers.
However, I would acknowledge that any modifier to Speed Value changes Arcades speed value.
You should also be very aware that there is NO rule called "replace then modify". Its merely a play strategy that almost always works out the best.
In this case I recommend "modify then replace". There is no reason perplex or (the Swingline modifier) would not work with Arcade and his Objects. GD could haveeasily stated unmodified value which they did not (as far as I know - I will have to check the FAQs and OHEAC to be sure though).

Can Arcade use Murderbots or Deathtrap on bystander tokens?
Sure, why not? The objects "blow up" and hurt anyone, no matter what type of figure they are.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

This is exactly correct. The power says they gain his speed, nothing else. However, if a BFC was played that reduced speed (like Atlantis Rising that makes all terrain water), the object would be impeded by that... it's still moving "as a character"

The objects also move as characters and so are affected by:
- becoming adjacent to an opposing character
- hindering terrain (staring = 1/2 speed, enter = stop moving)
- can move through friendly characters
- modifiers such as the Space map or the Rushed Assault BFC
Note that an object that starts under a character is not adjacent to that character.
