Spoken like a true ten year old or someone who has not actually given something like Preacher or Transmetropolitan a fair go.
I knew someone would pull Transmet out of the closet before this conversation was over. Not my cup of tea personally, but I understand it's cult popularity.
HeroClix needs more Goblin.
Acceptable in such forms as Green, Grey, Demo, Hob, Ultimate, and "Menace."
I'm sorry that my standards aren't as high as your's.
I've tried Preacher. I didn't like it.
How is an immortal cowboy having a shoot-out with a tank squadron boring?
Your initial statement reminds me of when I used to think that all spandex books were either kiddie stuff or horribly badly written ultraviolence, T&A and homo-erotic posing.
Yoda of Borg, we are: Futile, resistance is. Assimilate you, we will.

Ok, how about I put it like this:
I had a very hard time getting into the story. While I did enjoy the action, the actual story itself left me out in the cold. This may also be due to the fact that outside of the Hitman series, I can't stand how Ennis writes.
The only time I ever really go outside of my little "safety zone" is if Morrison writes it. Other stuff just leaves me cold.

Suburban Glamour
Aliens
Ex Machina
Y: The Last Man
Star Trek: Year Four
Star Trek: TNG
Dan Dare
Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash
Dark Tower
Walking Dead
Hack/Slash
That's all I can think of at the moment but yeah, there's so much great stuff that isn't super-hero based.
Samurai Executioner, Lone Wolf and Cub and Path of the Assassin are three others that come to mind. Not for kiddies, and they are black and white so like Cerebus don't count as comics anyway.
"When they come to take control every Ogre must play his role"
-It's a Bird
-Chosen
-$crooge McDuck
-Fun Home
-Midnight Nation
-Lowlife
I also read the Star Wars books if that counts.

That's kind of an unfair accusation. We all try to read something different, and get a different side comics, and we don't have to like it. I'm sure that DarkFlash2099 did try other books, but didn't like them. That's their choice. Different Strokes for Different Folks.

Huh?
Oh, and some awesome choices. I loved Lone Wolf and Cub, though Samurai Executioner was a bit too much for me. No time/money for Path of the Assassin unfortunately. I'm looking forward to reading Vagabond when that gets re-released though.
I just can't wrap my head around it that there's people out there who can't enjoy a story unles it's got absurdly dressed people in it.
I'm not saying that.
What I said was is that I didn't enjoy Preacher.
Yet, I loved We3. I enjoyed Sin City.
It's very rare for me to read any comic books that aren't superhero ones because, well, when I read a comic, I want stuff that is considered part of the whole core idea of superheroes. I want good vs. evil. I want to see huge climatic fights. I want to see the hero come out on top at the end.
Just because I read more "comic books" than "graphic novels" doesn't make me any less of a reader than you are.
