Supes uses his flight ring and pushes them both into the vacuum of space. Too bad Supes doesn't have any powers now. He really ought to think these things through.
Won't the ring protect Supes from the lack of atmosphere? This could be a luxury Earthman doesn't have.
I have to agree. I just read it, and I don't know if Frank Miller is going out of his way to make it bad and make fun of other Batman comics, or if he's just completely off his rocker. Robin pickpocket-ed Green Lantern's ring, and then proceeded to beat Hal up until dealing a killing blow. And then Batman had to give Hal an emergency Tracheotomy to save his life. Because Robin tried to kill him. For no reason. Gah!
I cannot believe that DC is still printing this book.

You know, I can't recall a time that it was mentioned that the flight rings protect the wearer in outer space, and I have alot of Legion books, but this must be the case. Oh well, I guess Supes doesn't die next issue.
I'm not sure why I've gotten into the habbit of defending this book. (All-Star Batman) It's not like I think it's great or anything. I just don't think it's horrible like everyone says either. It's over the top dark/gritty and different from the source material. Those are the main complaints I've heard. I'm not sure why people wouldn't expect that from a re-imagining by Frank Miller.
My only complaint personally on the book is that it moves pretty slow. The first several issues seemed like a ride in the Batmobile.
If nothing else though, I think we can all agree the art is pretty.

The flight rings for the "current" Legion do, but this Legion's flight rings never did. During the Levitz-era this story is based on the Legionnaires all had "Trans-suits", which were skintight, transparent jobs that let the Legionnaire operate in space while the artist could draw them without any differences.
My main complaint about All-star Bats is that it's idiotic. It feels like it's written by a student who plans on failing 12th grade so he can play another year of high school football.
That being said, I love reading them like I love watching Steven Segal movies.
I too really liked JSA this week -- the plot with Gog is FINALLY starting to take off.
However, I disagree with those who disliked this week's Legion. It wasn't action packed, but had some good character moments/character development. I wasn't digging Shooter's run thus far, but I think it's getting better.
I am curious if the face at the end of JSA is supposed to be familiar. It loked a little like a giant Brainiac face. He's not exactly a JSA frequenter though. I did really like it though. I love how Supes' memories from KC Earth are done with Alex Ross art. And I loved how KC Supes makes "616" Supes look like a chump in that Hercules fight.
Yeah if three people on this thread said it's bad it must be the opinion shared by everyone in the world....
Sarcasm aside, I've read this book and it's one of the worst things I've ever read. So I suppose you can raise that number to four, which is the minimum number required by law for it to officially be an opinion shared by everyone in the world.
The book is a trainwreck. And what do people like to do when they see atrain wreck?
Watch.
The best compliment Ive heard for it was something like "It's so bad, I can't wait to see what happens next. It's so outragous!"
You rated Countdown a 4 this week. If you went back and averaged out your scores for Countdown, I figure it'd be pretty low. Why do you keep reading that book ?
All Star Batman is weird and quirky but at the same time its so ridiculous that it works for me. It's like Starship Troopers. It's a movie that was made to make fun of stuff but inside the theatre it was awesome and had an air of reality to it.
Robin beating down Hal Jordan sounds ridiculous, but if you look at Hal as a chump with a ring versus an acrobat taught by a millionaire martial artist with a vendetta, it seems a little more plausible.
The brooding graveyard scene made the issue good to me, there is the extreme of fun/ridiculousness, and then the serious, and to me it works ( issues 1-3 were slow but the one after the really long gap saved it for me ).
So Supes and Earth Man get into it. Supes uses his flight ring and pushes them both into the vacuum of space. Too bad Supes doesn't have any powers now. He really ought to think these things through.
Yes, when you're powerless, and only have a flight ring have helps you survive in space, and you're fighting against someone who steals the powers of the people he's near, the wrong thing to do would be to go into space away from other superpowered people, leaving him with only your powers (which you don't have, and which he can't have either).
No, wait, that's exactly what I would do. Well, not exactly, I would be in my own time, with all those superpowers and using my x-ray vision (like you wouldn't), and not in the future and powerless, but that's just me. :D
