I'm thinking of trying the new Gordon out this weekend, maybe with the new Robin & Anarky as well.
No opinion on the Alpha GCPD? Otherwise, very interesting. I'm hardly Johnny Stratego, so I never put together the potency of new Gordon's powers.
Innnnteresting.
Fixed it with:
I missed the GCPD from the Batman Alpha set, and believe me it was just an oversight! But I'll quickly write something down for him!
He's 20 points and lacking a TA. He's got 4 clicks of life with a 6 range single arrow.
Yikes! He's more expensive than the previous versions!?!
He's got better movement than the previous versions with a starting 8 which stays for 3 of 4 clicks before dropping to a 7. He's also got handcuffs giving him a full dial plasticity. T his alone could make him an annoying 20 point piece since it can FORCE your opponent to deal with him before trying to move on. This could end up saving the bacon of some of your bigger point pieces. So essentially he'd be a throw away 20 points.. But you never know it could be worthwhile.
Attack value starts at 9 and then drops to an 8 for the remaining 3 clicks of his dial. It's not too bad for a cheap generic piece, but seems to fall a tiny bit short if you are going to play him with other REAL PD pieces since their TA will help his AV when in ranged combat anyway, but of course it does make him more viable for close combat which is probably what you're going to use him for with that plasticity.
Defensively he's boosted to a starting 16 which works down to a 14 by the end of his dial.. Nothing fancy here. 16 won't keep him alive for long, but it's better than what the previous versions had.
Damage wise he's got 2's for 3 of the 4 clicks and a 1 for the last click. Not too bad since he can also damage toughness figs now. On a PD theme'd team playing people with the ability to get past toughness is going to be important (and he can). It won't take much to get him the ability to hurt inv/imp pieces with just one perplexer!
Overall for 20 points he's good if you need a decent tie up piece or if you're playing a flat out theme'd team. Depending on your team however you're probably better suited to playing some of the previously mentioned GCPD pieces for the perks they offer and the added ranged bonus with their TA. Personally I like the Gotham Undercovers for a cheaper cost. But that's just me!
Thanks Uberman for pointing out I missed him!

I am glad to see the Commish from Alpha get the love... I think he's a fantastic figure. And I actually think he works very well without the TA -- because of the Defend. Throw a line of three GCPD with the PD TA in front of him, let them borrow his 17 Defense, and they can support each other with the TA.
I haven't played this yet, but I think the Commish makes the PERFECT hostage for the Bat Enemies... he's got the Gotham City keyword, and the Bat Enemies could benefit from his Defend. Especially, say, the CPOC, with the big base... You could play the Commish on a big Bat Enemies team and you wouldn't even have to have him fire his weapon... (but if you want him to, well, that's what Poison Ivy's mind control is for...)
Never underestimate Captain Gordon and his "Summon the Bat." I played him with Lamppost Bats and had to admit that the combination is practically borken (a term I hate to use). Bats doesn't really need any help, but Gordon made him virtually untouchable. I was orginally sad to see the Bats TA instead of the PD TA on Capt. Gordon, but the Bats TA is a much better fit for his special power. I don't think I ever used the outwit power because "Summon the Bat" was so much more useful. I also constantly forgot about his enhancement. This fig has a lot going for it and should go on any competitve Gotham team.
I've always been a little partial to all-PD teams. Many of the older figures can be difficult to use, but can be great compliments if paired with a medium-hitter.
Two E DEO Agents (pushed to the 2nd dial) w/ Tomar Re suddenly gives a 12-range shooter a +2 attack (PD ability) and +2 to anything else (from DEO Agent's perplex).
V Blackhawk is GREAT for 35 points; 10 attack, 17 defence and leadership!
And the GC Detective from AA is another fantastic figure for the points; PD, enhancement and decent numbers throughout the dial for only 27 points.
This is an AWESOME write-up! Thank you for the reminder to dust off some old PD characters to chase down some bad guys!
In unrestricted games, Gothan Undercover make very nice shields for a Trick Shotting Green Lantern.
They provide a cheap wall of Stealth, boost the GL's AV, and even have a bit of Shapechange to potentially foil close combat attacks. Mix them in with some Enhancers and a little S.H.I.E.L.D. (for the range boost) and they're pretty effective.

I agree.. That was one of my favorite usages.. Give them the old Hand Ninja trick..
