Warbird makes a running shot to O14, aiming for Umar. 10 atk. vs 15 (+2 from deflection + 1 from terrain) def. Needs an 8. Roll is: (6,4) for a 10 and a hit! Umar takes 2

The sudden attack takes the overconfident sorceress completely by surprise, singing her manifested form badly and rattling her concentraion.

2) "The ground will run red with surfacer blood tonight!" Marrow growls, sneaking to M14

3) "It would be better for everyone involved if you just surrendered now!" Daredevil offers from the shadows, leaping to N14

Calypso's Coven: Turn 4

1) "Alright big guy, you want a fight, try this!" Carol snarls at the monstrous Stone Troll, smashing a boulder over his ugly head! 10 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (5,6) for an 11 and a solid hit! Ulik takes 2 after invulnerability, the HO is destroyed and Carol takes 1 from the push!

The power of the blow staggers even the mighty king of the trolls who had not expected such a fight from a mere female. Nevertheless, it takes more than that to put down someone who can go blow-for-blow with the God of Thunder himself and Ulik snaps out of his daze with a shake of his head!

2) "Size is not all that matters, brute!" Mole Man whispers as he creeps up on the massive Troll. Mole Man moves to P11

3) "Yesss!" Calypso laughs with pleasure. "Dance for me my puppets, dance and kill!" Calypso moves forward to U16

Daredevil and Marrow both clear.

Calypso will PC anything successful Ulik might do.

1) "Don't force me to hurt you more than I have to!" Daredevil manages to hiss through clenched teeth as he tries to fight Calypso's magic, in vain. Daredevil hurls a billy club at the Brood. 9 atk. vs 14 def. Needs a 5. Roll is: (1,2) for a 3 and a total miss...

2) "What are you, blind?" Marrow snarls, disgusted by Daredevil's poor performance. "This is how you do it!" Marrow hurls a sharpened bone at the Brood soldier. 8 atk. vs 14 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (1,2) for ANOTHER 3 and a total miss... Apparently it's contagious

Mole Man, Calypso and Ms. Marvel all clear.

Nebula fires a powerful blast at warbird and manages to connect even after PC from calypso. Warbird takes 2 after invuln. Seeing Warbird weakened Umar decides to take a shot as well and connects for 1 after toughness. The moloid scampers across the field to L17 while the brood, kree, and Ulik clear.

Calypso's Coven: Turn 6

free) Mole Man emerges from his cover, his battle-staff glowing with power

free) "Strike now! before it is too late!" Mole Man's high pitched voice rings out. Moley rolls for leadership, roll is: 5 and he gets it!

1) "Well fought witch, but this fight is far from over yet!" Mole Man squeeks as he fires a blinding blast of electricity at Nebula. Mole Man Incapacitates Nebula. 9 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 7. Roll is: (4,1) for a 5 and a miss. Calypso beats her drum a little harder to set things right. Second roll is: (4,2) for a 6 and yet another miss (*sigh*)!

2) "Hear the call of the Loa's beast. You cannot resist my power!" Calypso calls, focusing all of her voodoo magics on Ulik. Calypso tries to Mind Control Ulik. 8 atk. vs 15 (+1 from terrain) def. Needs an 8. Roll is: (2,6) for an 8 and a hit! Ulik's beady eyes glaze over as the he looses himself completely in the beat of the Spirit Drum. Ulik suddenly runs away from Warbird as fast as his massive legs can carry him and dives headfirst into the river! Ulik moves to I6. Calypso takes a click from the feedback.

3) "You'll pay for that #####!" Carol growls menacingly, ripping out a huge chunk of earth and charging towards Nebula. Warbird flies to L10, picking up the HO along the way

4) "I said DIE beast!" Marrow howls in frustration, tearing out one of her protruding bones and hurling it at the Brood without any concern for the damage she's doing to herself. Marrow shoots the Brood. 8 atk. vs 14 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (5,3) for an 8 and a hit! The Brood takes 2 after toughness. Marrow takes 1 from the push.

Daredevil clears and Calypso will PC the first successful thing she might see

Calypso's Coven: Turn 7

free) "To me! This fight has only just begun!" Mole Man rallies the troops. Leadership for Mole Man is: 6 and he gets it!

free) "No-one escapes the Mole Man!" Mole Man shrieks, drawing attention to himself. Mole Man turns off Stealth.

1) "You will fall before me!" Mole Man pushes himself to his limits, firing yet another blast at Nebula. Mole Man shoots Nebula. 9 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 7. Roll is: (5,1) for a 6 and another miss. Once again Calypso tries to fix things with a voodoo curse. Second roll is: (1,1) for a two and a critical miss! (excuse me for a moment while I go and bang my head into the wall in frustration!) Mole Man takes 2 as his staff blows up in his face!

2) Shaking his head and thanking God that he can't see how badly his allies are fumbling Daredevil throws his Billy club at the Brood yet again. 9 atk. vs 13 def. Needs a 4. Roll is: (4,4) for an 8 and a hit! The Brood takes 2 and is knocked back to J10. No knockback damage thanks to flight.

Daredevil's throw strikes the fierce Brood warrior directly in the thorax and knocks the surprised alien backwards, off the top of the the building! With a huge splash the bug lands in the lake, drenching the unfortunate Kree standing next to it.

Warbird, Calypso and Marrow all clear. Calypso will PC anything successful she might see

Calypso's Coven: Turn 8

free) "You're really forcing my hand here!" Daredevil sighs, stepping out of the shadows at last. Daredevil turns off stealth

1) Daredevil snatches his Billy club out of the air on the rebound and immediately throws it right back at the Moloid. 9 atk. vs 13 def. Needs a 4. Roll is: (1,3) for a 4 and just barely a hit (nice going there Matt!). The Moloid takes 2 and is KO'ed! (and thus spared the soul wrenching agony it would undoubtedly have felt had it realised that it was fighting against its Lord and Master here) Daredevil takes 1 from the push.

2) "Incoming!" Warbird shouts as she hurls her boulder straight at Nebula. Carol smacks Nebula with her HO. 7 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 9. Roll is: (5,1) for a 6 and a miss. Calypso tries a quick curse to make Nebula walk into it. Second roll is: (2,6) for an 8 and just barely a miss!

3) Enraged and delirious by pain Marrow hurls another shard at Nebula. 7 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 9. Roll is: (5,4) for a 9 and a hit! (couldn't those two have been reversed?) Nebula takes 1 as she has no-one left to Mastermind to!

Mole Man clears and Calypso will PC the first successful attack or break roll she might see.
