Their taunting pushing him into acting rashly, Sandman swings a heavy elnarged fist at human torch. Despite Torch's heat leaving a portion of Sandman's fist in a molten state by the time it connects, there proves to be simply too much mass for the young matchstick to melt.

"Ha! That'll shut ya up!" laughs Sandman, leaving a semi-crystallized mass of sand and glass shards covering Johnny.

"Really, no tricks, just swinging at me?" Spidey said as he leapt over Scorpions tail, the item in his hands flying up in the air as he did so. "If I had a nickel for every time someone had tried just that and failed..."

Webline shooting into the air, the wall crawler pulled the item back down to earth hard, landing it straight on Scorpions head. His suit absorbed a bit of the impact, but most of it went straight on through.

"...I'd have enough to pay to replace that thing."

Meanwhile, the Human Torch realized he was a bit out of his league at the moment, and tried to back off to reassess the situation. But wasn't happening if Sandman had anything to say about it.

Listening to Daredevils command, Johnny Storm blasted his fire at the Sandman, heating him up. While it didn’t cause much trouble for Marko on its own, it did give Daredevil the opportunity he needed to strike the villain through his lower body, causing the brittle section Torch had created to shatter apart.

Pushing his way off of Scorpion, Spider-Man swung a webline to a nearby building and plucked a gargoyle form its roost, and with the greatest of ease swung another one to begin his way back.

“Hey five-pack, I got a delivery here for one of you! Anybody want to claim it?”

Turn 7

While Daredevil beats away at the pile of living sand heaped atop Human Torch, Sandman's sheer mass continues to slowly suffocate Johnny's flame, and his lungs as well!

1) Sandman attacks Torch. Attack 7 vs Defense of 14, needs a 7. Roll (2, 5) for a hit, torch takes 1 damage (and loses the all-important poison).

2) Scorpion, though weakened, takes on the similarly battle-damaged Cat. Attack 6 vs Defense of 12, needs a 6. Roll (6, 6) for a critical hit! 2 damage, and the KO! if anyone had to get it, I'm glad it was Gargan.

"I'm not out of this fight yet!" Scorpion snarls, his hand striking out with surprising speed and catching Black Cat by the throat. "Let's see how Spiderman likes seeing his girlfriend hit the pavement!"

Black cat struggles but his hopelessly outmatched by Scorpion's bio-engineered strength, and can do nothing as he brings his tail to bear as a battering ram that knocks her unconcious before her body even hits the city street.

While he did worry about Black Cat as she fell to the ground, Spider-Man kept up his act, trying to keep his foes on edge.

"And she was cute!"

With a new surge of energy, the Torch heated up his flames to an even higher temperature than before, pushing the Sandman off of him and then shooting a burst of fire into the villains face.

Continuing to heat up the Sandman with his flames, Torch kept the pressure on long enough for Daredevil to get in the one last strike he needed. Worn out and unable to keep bringing his body back together under these circumstances, the green-shirted goon fell to the ground in a million sandy pieces, unable to continue the fight.

"One down..." Daredevil said.
"...a laughingstock to go." Spidey answered, swinging his way in to a place most, even Spider-Man himself, would consider dangerous. "You know, Doc, you didn't have to throw a party to get my attention. All you had to do was ask. But since you went to all this trouble, how'd you like a present?"

"No need to be greedy, Doc!" Spider-Man said as the multi-armed menace swung his arms. "But here, you can have it anyway."

Jumping around as the arms continued to try to hit him, Spidey aimed his webbing and stuck two of the arms to the ground and webbed up the other two together, then swung his gargoyle right at Doc Ock's midsection. The two stuck-together arms were able to throw themselves in front of the stone structure, breaking it apart, but it gave Spider-Man the opportunity he needed to get in close enough to deliver a one-two punch to his face.

"Shouldn't have broken that. I don't like it when people aren't thankful for the stuff I give them."
