I'm with sheeplover (how is that your user I'd??!? ). I don't care how common/uncommon/rare they are. Its a nice bonus and I'm just glad that A) nobody will be shorted due to limited quantities, B) there's no extra cost, and C) there will be no mad rush to make sure we get the post office.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
Well, the bad part is that the post office is broke people. And now with 5000 less postage items going through, this could be the tipping point. Now the Post office is gonna go under, and it's all clix lovers fault.
For shame!
(just kidding folks. I love the idea, as long as the dealers don't pull a fast one and try to keep the figure for themselves. And there are a few around here (some are gone now) that would try to pull a stunt like that. At least those here know better, and can hold the store's feet to the fire.)
its a good idea if you have an honest retailer to moderate the promotion. for me its a wait and see concept. has potential to be great if done properly. im just happy to see this set coming out.
[It just occurred to me that along with everything else in production, there was probably a figure planned for Free Comic Book Day. I bet *that* would have been produced in massive quantities... certainly enough to ship one per brick.
Add in seeing more than once here that the Brick figure is Wolverine, and it actually makes sense. While Wolverine has little to do with a Thor theme, he would have been a perfect FCBD figure to go with the movie that same weekend.]
This means that there are PLENTY of these figs and any ebay sales will be in the 99 cent range!
I'm getting 2 cases, so I'll have 4 of them and I'll trade at least two for some of those common generics in this set!!!

[*]A figure needed to complete a certain "theme" (See SS:Illuminati...imagine if a "Metal Man" had been a BibtB figure...it wouldn't have sold as fast, but anyone who considers playing the MM would have hunted for it)
Especially if it had been a 50-70 point Metal Man to help round out a 400 point team...
I hope it is the FCBD Wolverine. At least if they give it as a BIBTB figure, it will be "tourney legal" -- whatever that might mean in the future. The FCBD Wolverines from Armor Wars were purple-ringed and weren't tourney-legal... what a waste. (And yes, I know, I can play them in non-tourney settings, and I often have... I even modded one for use on my X-Teams.)

That crossed my mind too since I was wondering if they were going to put out a FCBD piece to get and or keep interest in the game.
But I think we're missing the acknowledgement of a very crucial and important factor here...........demand.
I would imagine we've lost many players as well as retail and local venues willing to carry the product. I sincerely doubt the HOT print run is going to be anywhere near SI or AA printed run. As a business, its better to sell out than have product sitting in a warehouse...especially after no apparent re-marketing to date that Ive seen and a large time lapse from their last release.
Im buying two cases now...itll sell out and when it does itll be quick in my humble opinion...and a lot of people are gonna be without because theyve been out of the loop or interest has wained. If Neca makes another release after HOT...look for HOT to be........HOT

This has been Cliffjumper's Clix Forecast LOL
You raise a VERY good point here!
Based on projected demand, which could certainly be down a LOT since last year, there could be a VERY quick sell-out on this set, simply because SECA didn't produce nearly as much as recent sets because they didn't want to sit on unsold cases!
This being said, I just did a quick ebay check for "Heroclix Hammer" and di not find the usual sellers with listings of C/U/R sets and so forth.
Could this be that they have no idea how much product they will be able to get?
An amusing side note is someone is selling bricks with the BIBTB fig "Surtur Ragnorak!"
He has a lot of them listed. Does he have inside info or is he guessing?
I PM'd him a question about his sale asking if he was sure that that would be the BIBTB fig.
I'll share his response when it comes!
Getting back to case production, if demand is still good (who knows?) and they cut production we could have another "Legacy" on our hands!

I wouldn't read too much into it at this stage. Based on past Ebay experience, the case and brick sellers list first (that outfit in Chicago has been fairly consistent in posting the first listing of sealed products over the last few years), and most C/U/R set listings don't appear until a few weeks until a month later. If we hit mid-October and there's a lack of that sort of activity, that might be a bit more significant.
If anything, I'd suspect that the factor putting a damper on C/U/R presales might be the lack of an official confirmation that the rarity scheme is consistent with past sets. While the 'base' set size has been confirmed as 60 pieces as before, and boosters confirmed as 5 pieces, I don't think any official source has actually come out and described the rarity breakdown or confirmed that it's the same as before. Some complete set sellers might not want to lock themselves into a sale price for a set if they're not quite sure how much product they'll have to open, on average, to get that set.
I'm just glad there are no more s/h charges and the waiting for the mail, and the rushing to send it out, and the jacked up prices after it is gone. But most of all I am happy everyone can get one. This feels like a win for everyone. Neca sells alot of product. Stores get the hype of having the brick fig in the store. Most players will be surpised to see the brick fig given out when they buy a brick.
I know that saying "most players will be surprised" will shock some people, but I believe most players don't care to keep up on this site or look at previews. They just know that clix is coming back. They like being opening up boosters and not knowing what could be inside.
Just my $.02

I agree with both these posts, clix should be about playing the game; not how much money I can make off of it. I agree, it will be easier to get the free figure when buying by the brick, it is what Wizkids should have done when they started the brick program.

We have NO idea how many cases are being made, but let's assume caution and match Crisis at 10,000, which is 4k or so below other recent sets.
If every brick has a brick figure made for it, we're talking 20,000 brick figures.
That makes them LESS RARE THAN A RARE! That's 4 times Clown Prince, 8 times some of the other brick figure production. It's almost 4x as common as a super rare.
Does this, in any way, shape, or form, help sell bricks?
Well, it's still a bonus figure so maybe a little. The interest will wane very fast, though, regardless of how good it is.
I'm guessing they didn't actually make that many, and it will be a "while supplies last" offer, and they are NOT in the cases.
The key thing for me is the "Retailer gets the BIBTB figure", which sounds to me like if we buy the product, we have to then turn around and pay for the brick figure from the retailer, who may or may not sell it to the customer whether they buy a brick, case, or what. Sound good for the retailer, but not so much for the customer.
Let me find the strength to cut back on this game!
If every brick comes with a figure then the venue's decision on what to do with brick figures that came with the bricks opened for individual booster sales could determine how many bricks are sold almost as much if not even more so then what figure is chosen as the brick figure. Granted collectors will buy bricks so they can get the figure but they would of bought bricks anyway to get the majority of the set and trade stock for whatever they didn't get but more casual players who don't care about completing sets so much may be different.
The figure itself means a lot because of its a bad figure of someone no one cares about then no one will care to get it and will spend however they want but if the figure is a good figure and/or important to theme completion then what the venue does with the extra brick figures may determine number of bricks sold. If a venue sells the opened brick's figures in the store itself then less bricks may be sold because those who prefer to spend more slowly will buy a couple boosters and the brick figure. The next option is add them to the venue's prize pool and give them out at a later time after prize kits are gone which may cause more bricks to be sold because some won't want to chance winning the brick figure events to get them. Ebay is the other option simply selling brick figures on Ebay rather then in store most likely will cause the most brick sales since the brick and trades will be the only way to get the figure short of going online. As far as I go I want to see who the brick figure is and I want to see a dial before I decide because buying a brick is hard for me to do afford but I am more likely to figure out a way to do so if the brick figure is highly playable and/or desired.
If the brick figure is for the retailer ordering it, but the retailer ordered it to begin with because I pre-ordered the brick or I'm intending on buy it from them, then the Brick figure should be mine. Having to pay extra for it or not getting it because it was sold to someone else, even though my purchase made it possible to get it to begin with, would suck.
Having the BIBTB figure for the retailer, but with the stipulation that it is to be giving to the customer that purchases the entire brick would be a better idea.
