Do you remember the titles?
Or something of the plot?
One of them was about town guards/cops. I think the main character was an ogre or something. Another was about a suitcase. I don't remember what the other one was about.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
Hmmm that's true Quebby. I bow to your Discworld knowledge
Well, I've read a lot of Discworld novels. Most of them in fact.
In English and, when availible, Swedish. Though they are frightfully difficult to translate...
I'd imagine a book full of puns and British/American Pop Culture jokes doesn't translate that well to Swedish
No, but translators do the best they can though. Sometimes they actually come up with some clever jokes on their own - in Moving Pictures, for instance, there is a troll that changes his name to a better showbiz name. In English he chooses 'Rocky', in Swedish 'Bergman' ('berg' means 'mountain'...).
OTOH, in Soul Music there is a foot note from the translator that begins 'All right, now I give up. Here's the joke:'....
Oh yeah, I know footnotes of that kind.
Although not a Discworld novel, it was in Pratchett's 'Truckers' I believe where the Nomes try to obtain a Gnu, due to their enyclopedia misspelling a certain firearm.
By all means that is impossible to translate, but still it should be forbidden to make footnotes like that.
How come this game isn't full already? I can't believe there are so few people who appreciate Mr. Pratchett's work.
