I seem to remember that this wasn't so much a "team" as mid-90s ironic comment on how popular "cover appearance" characters are used to prop up titles when the sales need a boost?
The closest HeroClix equivalent would be a Firelord/Wasp/Black Panther team-up.
It was only 1990... we were already that cynical by then. (Don't forget the Punisher cameo in the final issue! )
As someone who has collected and played HC since Infinity Gauntlet, I say thanks for putting some thought into having fun with some of the older pieces. Early on we got excited about the pieces in each set even when they weren't all trying to outdo the rest of the set for powers and rediculous stats. For most of the players I knew then, the game was much more about the joy and fun involved in watching your favorite characters and teams coming to life on the map before you. much less about having the most impressive pull. Don't get me wrong, I love many of the changes that have resulted in this current, and very cool, version of HC. But many of us have been along for the whole ride and at one time, those "old " pieces and sets that "no one plays or cares about anymore" were pretty d@mn sweet. The game wouldn't look like it does now if it weren't for those iterations of the game.
In short (too late) Thanks for the post and for respecting the "old" pieces too.

That was awesome....they have revisited this thing many times in the comics. I think if BlueShield chimes in on this thread he could list all the times they have gather to be the FF.

I totally agree. I have been there for it all. And I love getting out old pieces and playing them. I usually play those against more unexperienced players who are using newer pieces because it is indeed a challenge to try and win.
Also, I love that you went with the New FF. I have been playing different versions of that team since the Logan and Ghostrider pieces first came out. it is a personal favorite! Thanks again.
Great article... for the first team, I would change out Armor Piercing on Ghost Rider for Swingline.
He is doing 4 straight damage... I would be more concerned having him get to where he needs to Charge, rather than making sure 1 click of 4 damage actually sticks.
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

Yeah, true. As I said, this is more about comic accuracy than competition.
Swingline isn't even a Marvel feat From a playabilty point of view, you are however absolutely right
oh, and BATARANG...I don't think anyone forces you to read any of the articles on here. On a sidenote, you may of course send in an article of yours that deals with interesting Heroclix teams and brand new facts or spoilers

Welcome to the first article in a bi-weekly frequency that is aimed towards the die-hard comic-accuracy fans among this realms-community. Of course it is nice to build a team with Superman, Captain America and Witchblade…but many of us find more joy in recreating battles with famous teams and team-ups they know from a storyline they loved to read.
If you have an urge to play true to the stories of “Secret Wars”, “Maximum Carnage” or “The Coming of Galactus” then you should definitely click on Full Story.
How will you play Maximum carnage since may of the pieces have not been made yet?
Good article. I can't say I'd use the team. I also don't own a Spider-Man or Ghost Rider piece. . . and I'm pretty sure I can never use a Wolverine piece again. But that's all personal preference
Hows about a NEWER Fantastic Four from one of last years "What if..." titles? Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, and Iron Man?
I am a fan of the New Fantastic Four, and have played teams similar to Dr. Morbius's excellent suggestions. However, I've read the comic you mentioned, based on my previous fanboyism, and have ever since tried desperately hard to forget about it. I was really hoping this thread wouldn't bring it up, and there you are Space Jawa, 1st post. Thanks.
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
cause Wolverine could really outwit Thanos
Just awful.
But, great article with the Original, I mean, Real, er, New Fantastic Four!
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
The one with Black Panther and Storm, and/or Lyja, and She-Hulk, right? I don't know, who are the original members again?
Heroclix is a strategy game with comic book characters where you can shoot sheep guns and quip with Spider-man and Deadpool. It is played by some of the nicest, most giving people on the planet. That is why I play Heroclix.
