I hadn't thought about the elevated terrain issues...WOW just broken. I like the clix and all but an errata should be made to address the issue. I'd TB him to batman ally and have robin and shaman smokescreen/barrier to death while cap crushes the op with a decent point leftover for any support/perplex you may need.
You are so correct on how broken this figure this. He is the most broken figure since the original Galactus and his Cosmic Multiattack.
If you build a 500 point team, and using nothing but 6 of these Caps, and put 50 points of feats, and fill in the rest of the points with so low cost figs, you can't possibly loss. Especially if you take an outdoor map. Just hide all your Caps behind Elevated terrain, keep them mobile, and destroy the opponents.
But this is what happens when a power gamer like Kelly Bonilla, with no comic-book knowledge, creates a set. We get extreme power creep and really broken figures. This Cap makes M-11 look like a pansy, and M-11 is horribly broken for his measly point total.

Except that Smokey Feet Cap has (in theory) been around a while, before Kelly got on board.
Have you got anything nice to say? Ever?
I am in awe of the cool and awesome people here on HCR!

i disagree about your comments directed towards Kelly... i don't know where this information came from but i am pretty positive she came out before WK shut down to tell us how excited she was. and seth even came out to say how good she did.
so to say she has no comic book knowledge is a bit of a stretch... unless you know her personally, in which case i stand corrected.
also, this figure is good, yes i wont disagree with that.
but he is far from "broken"
everyone called Strange "broken" when he first came out, and he's one of the easiest characters to face IMO (although i've seen him soo much)
but in the team you proposed (500 points all Caps) that team would not fair all that well due to lack of damage output.
sure they can ping away at an invuln guy at range, but what's one click compared to the clicks im about to do in return?
also, Poison can lock this guy down (if you're worried about hitting his high defense) considering he has no damage reducers
that team will get out actioned, sure they may get first strike (in theory, but i would make it so i could at least retaliate)
finally, a solid mystic ta will tears these guys apart.
so, in response to your 500 points, i'll put down 2 hela's (she has invuln and poison mid dial) and i still have 100 points left for w.e i want.
or better yet, i think loki is a mystic? he should suffice, or if you're feeling really adventurous, thoki will do. with perplex, high attack, move and attack, duo attack, indom and high damage. Thoki can take out 2 caps a turn, and suffer what? 5 damage at the most? i'll trade that anyday. (because i didn't even add in the other 100 some odd points, Pym particles anyone??)
there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, cap is great in theory, but needs a bunch of support to be a main attacker. (he's a harrassment piece at best) you still have to hit every attack with him

Wow, boy are you off-base here. I would find your crusade against Kelly laughable if it weren't so poorly informed.
While Kelly was Lead-Design on HoT, Seth and many others had design input on the set as well.

Agreed.

Fixed that for you.

I've met Kelly and have worked with her on a few occassions. I can tell you that "power-gamer" and "no comics knowledge" are not phrases I would associate with her.
I don't know what bug VGA has up his backside, but I can tell you his opinion of Kelly is barely that, and is not well-informed at all (shocking, I know).

Agreed. Hit Cap, do 3 damage or more, and he is adequate at best.

No comic book knowledge? How is this Cap no completely comic book accurate? He throws his shield in crazy ways like this all the time. I would say this is one of the most accurate dials we've gotten for any character.
I played him this past weekend and had a blast. I won only one of my games with him. He's a well-balanced figure. Extremely useful but not overpowering.
But barriers come down during your turn, so couldn't you do this with any ranged attacker?
It is the spirit of attacking through the barrier though. Sure, technically "any" team up could attack and then barrier, but to barrier and then attack.......that is nice.
Seriously, I do not think he is anywhere near broken. He has a relatively short dial with no damage reducers, his AV is average at best, and his damage will not due much against big bricks. His biggest saving grace is his defense at range, but that can be countered simply by basing him which nullifies his special power anyway. I think he may become more "broken" when we see a new set of more normal comic book character rather than gods, but those sets will also have powers that can deal with him.
He is a cool figure, and I look forward to fielding him, but he certainly does not guarantee a win.

Agree 100%. He is a blast to play, especially if you sing/hum the old Captain America theme song while fielding him.

One big advantage here would be the prevention of an opposing PC.
