I'm curious about one thing though, when did he get his speed back?
He got his powers back in the X-Factor: Quicksilver one-shot written by Peter David. It came out about a year ago. I'm sure it will be an easy find if you're looking for one.

But it's never been explained exactly why he got them back. He was just sitting around and suddenly, his powers came back to him.

Yeah, the story doesn't really get into why his powers return. But you know Peter David. He'll expand on the story in a few years when he's good and ready to tell the whole story!!! :cross-eye
Norman is definitely teetering on the brink right now, and I love it. In Dark Avengers he's losing control of Sentry and he's losing his mind. With Siege beginning, it's time for the downfall we've know n was coming since Norman took power.
Thunderbolts was good too. This is another team that's hitting its breaking point. Nuke is losing it big time, Ant Man is ready to bail after almost getting killed by friendly fire, and now that Nuke has ripped up Marvel Boy, there's going to be blood in the water.
I actually think Norman's gonna hold it together a while longer. My money is on him succeeding with Siege. IMO, Dark Reign can only end one way and it has a lot in common with how Secret Invasion ended - only this time Osborn's not holding the gun.
I finally picked up the newest Mighty Avengers and read it this morning. What a fun comic. Both the Mighty and Dark teams prepare to face a new threat, but apparently must at least put up the appearance of fighting together.
The Dark Avengers, on-scene at Project Pegasus, are trying to calm the press before they go in to take care of the impending omega-level threat. When Pym and his Avengers arrive, the press turn to him so fast, it was like he was a long-lost Jonas Brother. Dark Reign is made tolerable for me by events like this, where Osborn's pristine post-Skrull reputation is finally starting to lose its luster. It was clear by the questions hurled his way, that the media is really starting to pull the curtain back and look at the ugly side we readers have been aware of from the start.
