new Ultron is worth a look with haymaker, nanoarmor, nova blast, fortitude, auto regen, protected and so on. This is especially great since Nova Blast will ignore the protected everyone's sure to have on.
Skrull-vell seems nearly unstoppable here unless you run into a Superman, which is reasonably likely.
SS:I might be good with that -2 perplex neutering your opponents damage.
That Legacy Ares with fortitude sure seems frightening.
If your only fighting 1v1 then you wouldn't need nova blast for Ultron so you could spend the points on something else
These matches are going to come down to who can get the big hit first. Ulik guarantees you won't get a big hit on him EVER! YOU MUST HIT HIM SIX TIMES! No Outwit, EW, PB (Fortitude and Repulsor Shield) or PW (Ulik's errata). Nanoarmor helps a little against Meteorite, as does the Protected. He's fast enough to get where he needs to with Charge, hits like a ton of bricks, and can last forever in a match like this. It's crazy, but it just might work!
(Green Scar and Hercules) My venue did that tourament right after the Days of Future Past set came out...You don't want to play a grounded character because your opponent might have flight and water or hindering terrain will be your undoing. One guy at mine played Unleashed: U Magog, and he lost on that alone...Green Scar has leap/climb, so you might be able to get away with him by using that to get past hindering terrain or water. If your opponent uses your being grounded as a way of making sure you can't use your initial move/attack power on him, you can always use leap/climb toget over the terrain and adjacent to your opponent, but he'd have the first shot then, and you'd have to puch to hit him...you could always put Endurance on him though.
(KC Supes) One guy played an Unleashed: KC Supes, and he didn't have much poinnts for feats...he basically lost because he couldn't put fortitude or repulsor shield on...Crisis Chase KC Supes is a beast! (If you have him). Just watch out cause half his dial he has a 16 defense.
(Spectre) Spectre is nasty, but half of his dial he has no damage reducers, just SS and regeneration...your opponent is going to clock you with his unmodified 5 damage.
(Ultron) Ultron is super nasty, but he also needs support (thus the 3 clicks of mastermind and the 1/3rd dial of move-and-attack...)2/3rds of his dial have no move-and-attack or damage reducers...the regen is great, but you're only going to heal onto that sweet imperve click if you get lucky and roll a 6 when you're on your first regen click...anything less, and you're opponent can knock you out in 1 or 2 hits...You'd have to get the first shot off, and be able to finish him in the next 1, 2 or 3 attacks.
(Apocalypse and Darkseid) They both are SUPER tough, but they have the same drawback as Ganthet, no move-and-attack...they both need support, and since they're not indomitable, you'll take 3-4 clicks of pushing damage trying to KEEP UP with you opponent who will probably have charge, running shot, or hypersonic speed.
(Namor) You also don't want to play Namor because putting 150 points worth of feats on him won't do much more good than putting 70 or 80 points of feats...you just won't have enough opportunity to use them all unless you're VERY careful...
The guy who won STOMPED everyone he played...he played Armor Wars: U Sentry...either AW: U Sentry, or possibly Supernova: Vet Hyperion are BEYOND nasty one-on-one against another one-fig-army.
I'd play one of these:
Chase KC Superman
AW: U Sentry
SV: Vet Hyperion
(My first choice) SI: The Sentry (I know it's a gamble, but you have 2/3 chance of getting move/attack, and he's got damage reducers, high attack, and high damage his whole dial. Plus, he has that opening click of prob control and exploit weakness...Also, you can Thunderbolt him to whatever TA you want. If you use the Batman TA, you could play "Dark Shadows" and make your opponent come to you since he has no range, or you could do mystics plus damage shield and armor piercing giving your opponent two clicks every time Sentry takes damage.)
Sentry 197pts
-Endurance 5pts (so you can push without damage)
-Fortitude 25pts (avoide penatrating damage or outwit)
-Repulsor Shield 25pts (avoid penetrating damage)
-Nanoarmor 6pts (avoid that possible +2 from a heavy ovject)
-Shellhead 10pts (to raise yur defense since you'll be pushing)
-Thunderbolts 5pts (Mystics)
-Armor Piercing 10pts (otherwise the mystics won't do any damage to imperv, invuln, or toughness)
-Damage Shield 10pts (now 2 feedback damage)
-Vendetta 6pts (since you're only 197pts, there's a good chance your opponent will have a more expensive figure, so you will get the +1 attack).
Total: 299pts
You could also try Alpha Flight as you alternate team abilty and use that 5 pts from Thunderbolts for something else...or go with Batman TA and Deep Shadows to take awya his range advantage (if he has one). You could still play Deep Shadows to reduce his range and give you a defense bonus.
2 Things:
1) Impervious, Invulnerability and Toughness don't do squat to reduce Mystics Damage
2) In order for Mystics to trigger, you have to take Damage. In a one man army type of game, the object is to not take Damage.
Having said that, if I was going to play the Sentry in this scenario, I wouldn't T-Bolt to Mystics, I'd T-Bolt to Masters Of Evil, and I'd equip him with Shellhead. He can then attack every single turn, and he's got a +2 to his . Shellhead and Protected are also your friends.

Captain Marvel (human) for the capture ability would be pretty cool
Dear lord.. that's.. that's just WRONG... adding him to my list..
Alright.. lots of good suggestions so far.. here are my ideas feated out..
GREEN SCAR
230 MU033 Green Scar
25 AVF003 Fortitude
25 AWF010 Repulsor Shield
10 IOF008 Swingline
8 AWF003 Protected
298
Use the kintetic accelerator and Meterorite.. Swingline + Lunge gives him a 10 square charge to start.. fort and rep shield protects against EW and PB and Outwit.. protected for the return shot after the alpha strike.. only real drawback is the lack of range.. means a HSS shooter can just stay out of the way..
Basically.. if you can capture your opponent.. you win.. so endurance is there to push to get into position.. Haymaker for the bonus attack.. and endurance eats the push again.. hope your rolls hold long enough to release into start area for win.. use the kinetic accelerator and tombstone objects..
Swingline and Lunge give him a 7 square charge, use the kinestic accelerator to add to it.. unstoppable allows you to hide behind a wall and charge through it.. immortal contempt should give him +1 to most attacks, which balances with Haymaker giving him +2 damage.. so 5 damage flurries with 2 heavies.. next round flurry for 5 again, but now 11's count as crits.. Damage shield and T-Bolt to Mystics so you deal 2 back on close attacks.. nano armor saves object damage.. nanobots lets him heal, hopefully..
ULTRON
174 HA049 Ultron
8 AWF003 Protected
25 AVF003 Fortitude
25 AWF010 Repulsor Shield
10 LGF002 Damage Shield
12 AWF002 Life Model Decoy
3 SIF006 Alias
10 FFF004 Nova Blast
10 MMF003 Haymaker
12 MMF001 Automatic Regeneration
6 SIF003 Vendetta
4 MUF003 Inside Information
299
Ultrons got some good keywords for this type of game.. lots of Rulers and Cosmic types.. added with Vendetta.. makes that opening nova blast a sure hit.. follow up with a charge for 6.. could be mean for sure..
Maybe I'll give a few more peices some thought.. Black Adam, V Hyperion, KC Shazam, Magog, V Mon'El or V Supergirl..

That's Dr. Smart-@$$, thank you, I didn't spend eight years in insult college to be called Mister.
In last man standing matches I always use stardust.
Throw on:
Lunge, Auto-Regen, Elite Sniper, Vendetta, AP, Damage Shield, Fort and Repulsor, Protected. Thats 121, so you could add in alias as well. Makes an excellent counter to most one man armies.

I might swap Alpha Flight for Thunderbolts.. though the possible Mystic feedback plus Damage Shield would be nice..
GREEN SCAR
230 MU033 Green Scar
25 AVF003 Fortitude
25 AWF010 Repulsor Shield
10 IOF008 Swingline
8 AWF003 Protected
298
That opening 10 square attack with a meteorite , push to exploit)not that most figs won't have fortitude.. or a protected).. the opening 10 attack and invulnerable might hamper him a bit though..
This one is mostly for the amusement of it.. but if I can make the Heightened Reflexes or SS rolls.. Zoom with 12 attack, doing at least 2 a turn with armor piercing.. with pummel and PC giving me a re-roll on both.. luck and a map with a lot of walls & hindering to add to defense might help..
The only weakness this fig has is facing a HSSer.. he'd never be able to catch one.. but he can shoot at 10 squares.. which some people forget.. plus.. the sheer intimidation factor of plunking down either of the Chase supes is awesome..

I can tell you that Trigon is essentially a jerk that can't lose without being ganged up on. Was it a battle royale? If not, then Trigon can win and obnoxiously so.
If so... he might still pull it off. Auto-barrier is ridiculous. Also worth the same consideration is the much more featable Arkillo.
Auto-barrier... UGH. Never ever ever again.

It'd be pretty risky, but there's always Power Man and Iron Fist. Toss on Haymaker, Sidestep, Lunge, Rip It Up, Siphon Power even Vampirism... You're missing out on a few things, like Fortitude, flight, range, and other TAs if they run a PC/Q or no TA fig- but it would be hilarious!

I like this.
I've done Thanos w/ repulsor shield and lucky break before, and had good success with that, although that was because I didn't have a protected at the time.
Didn't see this one suggested yet: Avengers Ares Thunderbolted to Masters of Evil, with Shellhead, Lucky Break, and Unstoppable.

I like the Ulik Idea, but I'm not so sure on the protected on him. that really wouldn't do him much good except for if he didn't have an action and your opponent pushed.
