Seriously, Bendis has been writing Avengers for almost a decade. Did anyone actually expect him to stop?
Oh, no. I certainly did not expect him to stop, but I know he will continue to write a Bendis-style Avengers comic, regardless of whether they call it a new Heroic Age or not. While that is great for Marvel sales and for the fans who like Bendis-style Avengers, there will always be some of us who just can't seem to find enjoyment there. For those of us who feel that way, I hope some title starts up similar to Slott's Mighty Avengers as an alternative to Bendis' stories.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
I've enjoyed a lot of Bendis' work and can't see why everyone is so hard on him. He works on many titles but, that is because he is good.
Also, I think that it's good to have one writer doing a lot of the work as not to run into problems when you get events that cross a lot of titles. I remember some of the things that happened to the X-men back in the day when one write would mess up the stories of another. For an example that is a little closer to home just look at the fact that in Thor's title they are in Latveria while in Siege their back in the good ol' U.S. of A.
Jimmy Olsen: "Hey, Robin! No green anymore, huh? Just red and black. What's with the new suit?
Robin: *looks up at Superboy's Statue* "They were his colors."
Superboy is the greatest hero of this comic book era.

Accompanying the Avengers in May 2010 will be a second ongoing, called Secret Avengers. Following last week's roll-out of the first five members of the Avengers book by Brian Bendis and John Romita, Jr. and a second Heroic Age teaser, Marvel has revealed this second book, written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Mike Deodato. Great to see Brubaker and Deodato working on an Avengers title!
One of the most common theories about the first Secret Avenger shown is Hank McCoy - and to be honest, it does look and sound a lot like Beast.
Although upon looking at the teaser again, I think it's Black Panther. But I dropped the Black Panther book four issues ago, so I have no idea if it could even be T'Challa or not.

I agree with the Taskmaster theory. The only other person it could be is The Hood. If anyone's read the "Beyond!" mini-series from a couple of years back, The Hood makes a great gritty anti-hero/"Why am I risking my neck for those people" type when paired with the heroes. I could see him making the "jump" to being a "hero" after Siege when he realizes his gang is going nowhere and that the "real Avengers" are back in business. But his gang was doomed the moment they let Crossfire roll with them. That guy hasn't been a threat since "Avengers Spotlight".
